I only worked there for 8 years, I wanted to move back home if given the opportunity. And looking back, biggest mistake I’ve ever made....I should have stayed with Gerber and continued to work for them. Instead, I took a job working on same equipment at a manufacturing company, worst job ever!! I stayed there for 30 years because I was home with family and friends. Within a couple months it was announced that they were moving to a 4 day work week causing an additional 20% reduction in pay. As a result the atmosphere at work was toxic and everyone was on edge, worried that their job was in jeopardy. At least one whole division was sold off that I know of. Poor upper management decisions such as buying another company during the recession which increased the debt load while barely increasing revenue.
