Wonderful insurance coverage...that's about all
Micro-managing, ridiculous monitoring and surveilling of employees, sub-par starting pay, and a general lack of consideration or empathy for employee experience. Ro has an amazing branding team because they present beautifully. Once you start working here, you can see what's underneath the shiny facade. It's a money grab for vulnerable folks who are looking for GLP-1 medication during a national shortage.

Grateful to work here!
I can truly say this is the best company I've worked for. The passion & drive that our founders have for our mission is contagious, and resonates throughout the org. I value the transparency from our leadership & founders - they are very good about sharing expectations, setbacks, metrics, etc with us (we have a bi weekly all hands where this info is typically shared).
Although we are very busy, I feel very supported in my work/life balance - with flexibility when and if I need it. We also have really great benefits here, with mental health support offerings.
Ro is really invested in employees growth as well. There's a whole growth program 2x a year where we can do self check ins, gather feedback & insight from our peers & manager, have the possibility of promotion - and if not, gather actionable next steps on how to get to that next level.
We are very much still in the startup stage -- which means a strong emphasis on the startup mentality and needing to do whatever it takes to drive forward and get the job done. With that being said, things move very quickly here & change fast, and you need to be ready to pivot/shift gears in a moments notice & be flexible. Communication is key here so everyone is on the same page.

Sometimes it feels like I am working at Theranos
Flexibility, autonomy, WFH without needing hardwired internet, previously very predictable work
When I started working at Ro, we had our care verticals that were solid, predictable, and reliable. There were definitely areas that needed improvement (especially with regards to patient safety protocols and having a solid foundation in organizational policy), but there was a lot of autonomy, lots of opportunity for professional development, and honestly, for the first time ever, I felt like I was actually respected as a nurse (rather than having both patients and provider's needs/desires made priority over mine as a nurse).
...and then the GLP-1 craze came to Ro. Suddenly, we were scaling far faster and far beyond our clinical capacity; chasing medications that are just not available in the community and with no ETA for when they will be widely available; changing policies to better bolster the bottom line but calling it "winning" for the patient; changing policies that weaken patient safety, etc. The list goes on and on.
I was always highly suspicious of the Kool-Aid they were peddling but chalked it up to being unfamiliar with the technology/start-up world. Now, I cannot help but see a lot of parallels between Ro's current status and the beginning of the end for Theranos. Hopefully there is no investment fraud going on too...

Please listen to the needs of the clinical groups within the organization. We are drowning and it has taken way too long for any discussions around changing the marketing strategy to be executed. Posting about our record setting days only makes us more angry because we know we aren't providing the high quality care we were previously providing. The burnout amongst RPM staff is unreal and we feel so incredibly unheard, disrespected, and exhausted.
And there are no GLP-1 medications anywhere, we don't get why we are still chasing this strategy.

Chasing crazy valuation = making crazy decisions
1. You'll work with great individuals, genuinely fun people who care.
2. The salary process is very equitable with regular reviews to keep titles all paid the same
3. The overall health problems that Ro works on are meaningful for patients - helping them is doing good!
1. Leadership will constantly push for features/product to scale faster than they should, even when really negative patient experiences are happening left and right. They need something to show off to the board to get one more quarter to finally prove that yes, they are worth +5x more than Hims...
2. There's a small clique of people who can make decisions. Most of the company are task takers because thats all they are permitted to do. Ideas that get raised outside of leadership get squashed - only not forever, just until leadership comes up with the idea themselves months later.
3. Employees struggle to give each other regular feedback
4. Very 'soft' culture, you have to cushion every statement in a question or a 'maybe', rather than speaking plainly.
5. Bought multiple, game changing companies (like Modern Fertility), to end up shutting down completely or putting on maintenance, robbing the world of great innovation (purely because they bit off more than they could chew with bad acquisition theses and irresponsible funding decisions, not because these companies weren't viable).
