Company withdrew job offer due to COVID-19

The company runs some interesting campaigns and organises events globally for a good cause.
|
Following a successful recruitment process, I was offered a job at the company's office in London. I handed my notice period, and just a few days before I was supposed to start my new job they withdrew the job offer due to COVID-19. I understand this is an unprecedented situation that may have affected this and other companies, but they literally left it to the very last minute to cancel my contract. I could have stayed with my previous employer and be put on furlough, so this obviously left me in a very vulnerable position. Just a few weeks until this happened, I saw in the news they had raised $7 Billion for COVID.

I love working at GC. It is hard work, but we have real impact, and the team is intelligent, caring and passionate.
The leadership and executive team seem open to new ideas, and are hiring staff to fill important roles, like HR.
The 2019 campaign was a success. The plans for 2020 are exciting.

More investment is needed in technology and the App. The technology is good, but needs more investment to drive growth.
As a campaigning organization there are periods where the work is consuming, and work/life balance can be a challenge. The shared services team have made progress in making the busy periods more manageable.
