It used to be flexible which helped home/work balance. However, new HR at the beginning of 2019 has removed GCIs agility. C-level management changes strategic direction too often. Their desperate attempt to make money lacks thought or planning. For example, they lost ONE customer several years ago and the ship has been sinking ever since. Having all your eggs in one basket is pompous and ignorant. The staff can't execute effectively because plans change, and communication is so bad, the staff has no idea things are being done a totally different way. There were times when I didn't even know who I was working for, who my boss had been changed to! There is no room for advancement unless you are a man. They can't afford to give raises so, you will inherit additional jobs but you won't get a raise to go along with it. No employee job reviews; if you are doing your job correctly, you keep your job and are given more work to do, if not, you're fired - Unless you are a sales person who has been with the company for a while, then you can do nothing, make a healthy salary and variable commission. Morale is very low since there is nothing motivating the workers. Management cares about themselves; they adjust sales compensation without notice, they stopped contributing to the 401K when matching no longer benefited them personally, the health care they choose serves their personal needs. He's sweating now because they are losing business because of his lack of focus.
