Corporate gives you a general idea of how things are run, but every office is different. Good opp to get into B2B sales if you’ve been struggling to break in. Good opportunity if you plan staying awhile and building your book of business. Very hard to stand out to prospects.

Wouldn't recommend anymore
|
When I started working for Globaltranz it was pretty great. It's a good starter job and it was remote, which was the biggest plus in my opinion. I started right before they got bought by WWEX and although they claim its one team, it was always WWEX first.
First round of layoffs came where they deemed GTZ and Unishippers roles redundant but said nothing about anyone at WWEX. They also said to trust them they wouldn't do it again. Lo and behold they did it again.
I used to really enjoy the job as well, each day had a challenge that I felt happy to solve, then they shuffled the roles and I found myself going from someone who had a niche to just doing copying and pasting and nothing more. It used to be something I'd recommend but it's shifted hard-core since the merger.

Like the customers but trapped by Procedures for Problem solving
|
Well typically I was hired to solve problems with Logistics, Management didn't want critical thinking, they only wanted programmable robots who operated with in a very set guideline for solving problems. I had to reach out to the clients to get permission to use methods for solving problems that were against the companies set guide lines for solving problems. When I got permission management was angry that I had to solve the problem using non conventional skills, they wanted substandard support for their Top clients and got angry when I used Critical Thinking, expert support to solve the clients issues. The most enjoyable part of the job was the small office feel, some of my co-workers were pretty cool to work with. The CSR Manager was really nice, precise, willing to teach : Management - needs major work, patience, empathy, ability to communicate without colorful metaphors, and ability to allow problem solvers to actually use their full brain to solve problems and no limit them to "building a parking garage using only a plastic toy shovel"

Great company
|
Worked here for a year and felt like part of the family. Was a wonderful place to work with super friendly coworkers. Was able to get my job done from the comfort of my own home, and be able to maintain my household and fully trusted to get my work done (which I did!) in my shift time. This is the only company I've known that didn't micromanage and treated everyone like an adult.

A good job with decent pay if you are good a managing freight. You track freight more than you sell and get blamed when your shipments (sales) don’t pick up. If you are okay with that, it should be alright

I worked at GlobalTranz for 3 years total and for 1 year as an Account Analyst. Management changed 3 times during this 1 year. The new management brought in employee’s from their previous company and played heavy favoritism. In addition to lots of management turnover, the Account Analyst position had a high turnover rate as well.
