As a new joiner, no leave for lunar new year. Had to take unpaid leave which may course a drastically decrease of salary. Hopefully Manager and boss can allow more leave on lunar new year. How could a person work lonely at a lonely city during lunar new year.

Most of the coworkers are nice and this job is acceptable if you are just starting out, but hold on for a stressful environment. Training on the product is the only saving grace (if Shelley is still there).

Absolutely horrible culture. They ask inappropriate and personal information during the interview. That should be your first red flag. They ask questions to get indication of whether or not you are lonely enough or have outside commitments to slave over the job. Then, they shove you into a small cubicle space (even managers, who should have an office). The pay is cheap, so come expecting experience over pay.
Cameras are everywhere! They do not trust their employees and have cameras and sound in their glass cage of a break room! They will tell you that it is for security of data, but the VP and CEO spy on you...
Notice a pattern in the 5.0 reviews on Glassdoor? Wording and number of years worked is changed, but someone is repeatedly leaving them to mislead you! Run away Simba and never return!

Stop posting these fake reviews and change the culture. Stop scrimping money and pay your employees fair wages. You have the whole building! Give senior management offices and switch to SAAS. Shelley is awesome and should also have an office. Why should implementation take so long? Specializations would be nice too instead of making project engineers learn so much random skills. Finally, use the cameras for what they are meant for and learn to trust your employees.

Bad Management and Development:
- Management do not listen to employee’s feedback and suggestion during annual review (or any other time). Same problems keep repeating until you decide to quit the company. Sometimes they make decision beneficial to them without consulting the team.
- Useless HR who are always need to get other manager involvement for every small matters and push responsibility to others. What she did was chit chat with others during working hours.
- Never-ending self-study on 'Machine Learning' knowledge via online outside of working hours. Not allowed to study during working hours due to customer projects’ time constraint. Sacrifice quality time with family and friends.
Bad Employee Benefits:
- No marriage/paternity/Bereavement Leave. You are entitled to 14 days off annually. Take it or leave it.
- Non flexible working hours. Late for AN HOUR and your leave will be deducted, no reason accepted even if it was an emergency or something uncontrollable.

- You are given FREEDOM to buy your own benefits. They converted most of the benefits provided by other companies out there to cash and included them in your salary. (I really appreciate the HR explained this to me last time when I asked for more benefits)
- Paid to learn the 20 year-old best tech.
- A company that willing to train fresh grad. Instead of hiring an employee who has more experienced, has more knowledge and can even help in improving the current technology used, the management prefer to train a new fresh grad.

- Non-flexible working hour.
- Excepting Friday, you are not allowed to wear casual or even smart casual even though you will never ever meet clients in the office. The reason for you to wear formal is to maintain your professionalism. You will even get warning if you are wearing sport-shoes.
- Those feedback you gave, those issues you addressed and those suggestions to the company and to the management in annual review will be the same every years until you give up and leave the company.
- Performance based increment is just a joke.
- The only way to being promoted is wait until your senior leave.
