BEWARE! They’re thieves.

The clients are usually amazing.
|
They severely underpay their caregivers as well as office staff. If they feel like you’re gullible, they’ll take advantage of that. They make 3x what they pay them. While I worked there they were constantly “missing hours” on people’s checks. When employees asked for their pay stubs the office staff never got back to them. They claim to be good Christian people but I’ve never met people who are so mean and cruel in the way they speak about clients and caregivers behind their backs. They don’t pay you for your breaks. At all. Not your 10’s. Nothing. They break nearly every labor law. Overtime is not paid correctly. If you accrue it, they refuse to pay it. I’m STILL owed money from my time there. They don’t provide final paychecks if they terminate an employee, but rather make them wait until the next payday. Hands down worst company I’ve ever worked for.

Can care less about their caregivers!

Clients are very wonderful seniors and disabled individuals!
|
Pay is very low for the amount of money they receive from the clients and Medicare. Travel pay is never paid on time nor is it paid for the correct time that is driven. Clients pay .79 cents and the caregivers only get .53 cents a mile, therefore, Golden Years (Sacramento) is pocketing the remainder and making money off of their caregivers vehicles.
They don't follow the Dept. of Labor laws when paying overtime.
On the brochure it states that all staff is First Aid/CPR certified. This statement is not true. They do not certify us or make it mandatory.
They also state on their website that Golden Years are experts in Alzheimer's and Dementia. This is not true, as I have not been trained in this field! Watching a video doesn't give you extensive training or make you an expert. The owners may be experts but they don't work with the clients.

Seemed to be somewhat flexible at first, very welcoming upon hire and seemed friendly. Willing to compensate when needed to be.

No one really participated in teamwork. Everyone there acted as though they were above helping each other out because they were too caught up in their status. The brunt of the work gets dumped on the cna's. There are many incompetent individuals who do not know what they are doing. Never really seemed to be appropriately staffed (way too many patients for far too little health care workers).

Hire someone in HR who actually knows what they are doing. Work with scheduling requirements if individual is in school. Get a better scheduling system. And actually keep enough staff/patient ratio to keep it safe for the residents and health care workers.
