I am used to companies that look at the bottom line and make decisions based on only that but at this company you feel like people really care about making guests happy. After an online test and two interviews with Go Moments I was offered a full time job. I accepted the job and the next day I was to provide information for a background check, discuss start date and other details. That's was just the beginning of a very bad experience. I was told a mistake was made and that even though she called and checked before offering me the position, they were only authorized to hire one person and that, I won't mention any names, but the person in charge indicated to her to be somewhat less than honest about "what happened". So, even though I had given up another job for them and canceled my other scheduled interviews, I was told they wanted to offer me a contract position for only $500 a month and .50 per minute for time on the phone actually speaking with customers. It's a Virtual VIP Concierge job and when you are doing other things like making reservations or looking for activities online you will not be paid. Not to mention paying your own taxes and the fact that I was offered something that would have paid my bills and that position was then reneged, so getting the taste of this out of my system was not easy. In addition to that as posted, the job was for a VIP Concierge. Once I was hired as a contract Concierge they added statements such as, "Since you are contract and part time, anything other than a standard dinner reservation you will pass onto a VIP Concierge." And, "Since you are only part time, you will want to follow the script." Also, please be aware that they did not get my signed permission to run a background check and or a credit report. From the moment I was first hired until I was let go things continued to be a problem. They have you sign a contract which protects only them. The amount of hours you are required to work minimally to get the $500 a month, and the $500 being prorated or not being prorated. Also, they neglect to think it's important to let you know that you are only paid once a month. They use Google Hangouts for their training and do not have a firm grip on how everything works. Much time was wasted due to this. Two days of my time that I was not being paid for was wasted on this and issues with other trainee's who could not get their software or headsets working properly. This is a Virtual job. I have worked for three different companies virtually and also a business owner for over 8 years. I am a top Sales Person with numerous awards and achievements. I have also been to Travel School and worked at a 5 Star 5 Diamond Resort where I was asked to check in VIP's frequently. I am 50 years old and Caucasian, I can only think that, that and the fact that they knew they messed up and created a very difficult financial situation for me caused them to tell me that they had concerns regarding my technical abilities. That it was very important to be able to use their software. Which was simple and I never had any issues. Odd, since I was the only one, headset working and ready for phone calls on my last training day. I typically do not like to report bad things about companies because I like to be understanding and empathetic where people and feelings are concerned, specially a start up company. I also felt that once I was on the phones they would be forced to see how well I handle customers and that things would change as the company grew and offer me a more lucrative opportunity. I have never worked anywhere that I have not been praised on my professionalism and phone skills with customers. Am I angry, yes! I expressed my desire to show them what I was capable of and let them know that I wanted to grow with the company. They seemed to be afraid that the money they told me was achievable really isn't. They sell their services to Hotels and say they provide Top Level Concierge service to be adding 100 new hotels this year, a week later that was dropped to 60.
