Average Nursing Home with good pay

This place is an average nursing home with some staff that cares about the care they give. And there are others that are just there to get a paycheck. Top management like the DON and CEO are hardly ever seen on the units unless Corp is visiting. Seems the attitude is do more with less help. Hardest part of the job was not having backup from the management. The most enjoyable part of the job was going into work and having my residents smile at me and say I am glad you are here. And at the end of the day leaving work feeling that I made a difference in a residents life for that day.

Case management is very rewarding because of being able to support the client, family, health organization and community.
|
Obtain new census list and identify new clients for the day to add to case load. Confer with attending physician and nurses for plan of care and discharge planning needs. Assure correct level of care for clients by using Inter-Qual criteria and computer entry.
Arrange home health, out patient services, DME and transportations as needed.
Report directly to case management director and provide reports on daily basis.
Collaboration with peers is always an ongoing process for continued flow of the department.
The hardest part of the job is finding services for clients without insurance and low income.
The most enjoyable part of my job is collaborating with the client, family, health care staff and knowing a safe discharge plan is in place.

This hospital is currently 9000000.00 in debt. and over the past 6 months has terminated many top pay scale employee s with long terms of service .They are trying to make their financials look good for the acquisition or sale for auditors for a soon to be very sorry organization. This hospital illegally place a nurse manager on 2 floors according to the Joint Commission that has moved in and out of 2 units after demoting a long term manager in a 3 month period of time frame and then disappears after they are gone. They have no problem placing staff licensed nursing at risk of their license and no regard of the hospital mission. The new mission is to get your paper work done get out on time or get written up ,terminated and don t worry about patient care . I would highly suggest if you are a Quality caring licensed nurse and want to withhold your oath of nursing as you acquired to take care of patients.Do not even consider the Good Samaritan Health System of Lebanon Pa. ! This is written by a long term nursing employee subjected to the abuse of desperate and illegal management .

I worked there a very brief time before being laid off. The good Sam has a great group of nurses, doctors, and techs. Overtime was readily available because of the hospital always being at full capacity. however the down side is that many patients had to wait long periods of time before being admitted and transported to an available room.

Management slow to get things done, "hospital always full and patients always waiting on bed assignments", major lay offs.
