I do not have anything positive to say about my experience at this firm.
|
- Inexperienced and disrespectful management.
- Terrible to no pay for interns, misleading advertising about offering paid internships.
- Unreasonable working demands, such as having all the interns arrive at work before paid employees.
- Management thinks the firm is much more than it is, and have even compared it to the UN in an attempt to make interns feel guilty about having issues with working there.
- Very little structured management and goal setting, leading to poorly planned out strategies and projects. For example, when attending development meetings, not a single person out of about 20 had met their target goals.
- Highly inefficient marketing model, they essentially pay people to use their site, for example by forking out hundreds of dollars to mediocre students for less than noteworthy achievements.
- Despite claiming to be dedicated to helping students, they exploit student interns.
- Management is unwilling and unable to accept any constructive criticism or feedback, instead they blame the person who has the problem, and argue that they are not the right fit for Goodwall (emphasised by the high labour turnover rate).

- Learn to accept criticism, and acknowledge that you may be wrong. Stop blaming individuals who have issues with you for not being the right fit.
- Learn to be more humble.
- If your mission is to help young people and students, then you need to treat them with more respect.
- Learn to think through projects and strategies before blindly committing to things.
- If you are unable to pay the people who work for you, perhaps stop giving out so much free money to students who have done very little to earn it.

I started out at Goodwall as an Intern and since day one, I have been entrusted with responsibilities important to the company and my input has always been valued. In 10 months at Goodwall, I have learned more than at all my previous jobs combined and that really, in my opinion, is something that a young professional such as myself should value.

If you're morally weak, have trouble handling a big amount of pressure and multitasking, Goodwall is not for you. Being a flexible, positive go-getter able to adapt to change and shift focus radically is something that you would need if you want to succeed at Goodwall.

I've been at Goodwall for almost a year now and it's been a great learning experience. I immediately felt like my opinion mattered, which allowed me to feel comfortable asking, suggesting, and taking action. In doing so I was able to learn from others around me and work effectively with my team to grow the business.
