Great place to work if early-stage companies are your thing
- As an engineer, I get the chance to lead projects that I'm interested in - It's an early-stage start-up, so there are lots of chances to take ownership and shape the direction of the product. - The culture is great, there are no expectations to work until you burn out and all of the people are lovely. - The company is big on design thinking and using customer feedback to drive product decisions. This is done much more successfully at Graphy than at most other companies I've worked for
- The company is still in it's early stages so not all of the processes are in place yet - Remote-first environment requires extra effort when it comes to communication and managing your own day-to-day

Exceptional environment for impact and growth
I worked at Graphy for 2 years between 2020 and 2022 and it was a truly positive experience.
- The people at Graphy are exceptional. My teammates were some of the kindest and most inspiring people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They were always eager to tackle big problems with novel, customer-led solutions. This is an environment where you can learn, grow, and develop lifelong friendships.
- During my time at Graphy, I had the opportunity to explore and successfully transition between functions with the full support of management. Graphy funded my participation in a leading education program and introduced me to world-class mentors, making my move easier. My manager provided me with a clear progression path and created the space for me to draw on his previous experience for my own growth. Without this environment for personal development, I wouldn't have landed the role I am in now.
- Graphy is led by a visionary founder and complemented with a talented leadership team that collaboratively breaks down the vision into a clear pathway with the wider team. This creates an inspiring place to work where you can really move the needle and see the impact of your work.
- The engineering team at Graphy is a joy to be part of. They work closely with product and design to regularly ship solutions to important problems. With multiple deploys per day, short lead times, and a team that welcomes pairing and encourages code reviews, there is no better environment to learn.
- Graphy is a remote working environment, and the team is distributed across Europe. If working in-person is your preferred style, this may not be the best place for you.
- Graphy is an early-stage tech company working on an ambitious problem. You should feel comfortable moving quickly from new learnings to get the most out of your time at Graphy.

Terrible leadership, no direction
- Non leadership team is kind and fun to work with. They really want to make something great. - Great work-life balance - Not too many meetings so you can focus on work
- Leadership has little experience and no humility. They say they want feedback but then get upset when it's given. One person even got fired for giving feedback to the CEO. As a result, the team has stopped saying anything and stays quiet. The culture is completely messed up. - Lack of experience has translated into lack of direction. Strategy changes constantly and leadership doesn't collect or use proper data. They read one thing online and will suddenly swing to that direction without a second thought. - Leadership bloats meetings and docs with buzzwords that mean nothing (synergies, double down, etc). They eschew industry standard tools like UserTesting and instead do haphazard things like asking friends or posting randomly on Twitter and using that as data. When experienced employees push back, they're told that this is "startup life," but it's not—it's lack of strategic and product sense.

- Be honest with yourself on how your behaviour has affected team morale and company strategy. Instead of policing people's actions and shutting them down, apologise and incite real change—commit to following standardised processes for research, data analysis, design, and strategy. - Hire an experienced team who has worked at successful companies and trust them instead of shutting them down.

Great remote working experience
The company places a high priority on culture, mental health and is pretty good at making sure everybody in the team has input on product decisions and company processes.
Product, engineering and design are grouped into small cross-functional teams that have ownership over specific areas of the product and work with high levels of autonomy. As an engineer I get the opportunity to plan and lead my own projects which is great for personal growth.
It's a young company so all of the processes aren't fully established yet, although they are constantly being worked on and improved.

Great people, interesting problem
- Great people to work with
- Interesting problem to solve, with diverse skillsets utilised
- Truly remote first
- Pretty great work/life balance
- Sometimes the inexperience of management shows, in terms of people management
- If you're not based in the UK, you are paid a fraction of what your colleagues are paid

Proud to work here!
- Amazing teammates - a bunch of talented, driven and empathetic people who all know how to have fun while getting things done to the highest standards
- We're building an amazing, meaningful product which is going to have a massive impact - it's really exciting to be a part of this!
- Strong remote-first processes allow for flexible working whilst still ensuring great communication and connectedness within the team
The remote working environment, although perfect for me, might not be a good fit for everyone.
