Best job ever
|
I have had many other jobs but nothing will ever compare to my time at Green Zebra. From management to the customers its truly amazing. I felt so appreciated and comfortable there no matter which location I was working at. Everyday was fun and my coworkers were amazing. The CEO and Peoples team were so awesome and always made me feel so supported. If I didn't move out of state I never would've left Green Zebra.

Worst Job I’ve Had
|
I’ve worked a plethora of jobs, and Green Zebra was by far the worst working experience I’ve had. It is so poorly managed it’s almost incomprehensible, and the employees are always the ones that are effected. The coworkers aren’t much better either, everyone is miserable and rude to each other. I’ve had an easier time communicating with infants. I dreaded coming into work every day, it was awful for my mental health.

Chaotic and unhelpful

There was never a system for anything, and I was let go for calling out with doctor's notes. It felt like there was constant drama amongst coworkers. I did not enjoy the workplace.

I was one of the first employees here and although it was hard to take a wage cut for my position the experience was priceless. I don't know how they doing currently, but have heard that they opening up new locations which is awesome!

You get what you pay for
|
Owner tries to get as much work out of staff by paying as little as possible, while simultaneously raises prices of product impusively. It is not a competitive pay scale in comparison to other grocers in the area. The managers are paid less than what hourly clerk employees would make at other grocers. Store Managers are notoriously useless and are rarely of any help to the staff on the floor that need it. Every once in awhile a bright and shiny employee starts there, but quickly loses motivation once they realize how often their manager is in the back office on the computer, the front end is "busy" talking about how it's their Friday and they're going to get so wasted over their weekend. Those employees that had potential become lazy like the rest of the staff or quit in frustration.
If you are unreliable and enjoy working for incompetent leadership, go ahead and apply. They hire everyone.

It was a good place to work

Good work atmosphere, I became management after a year and a half of working there and remained for almost four years. I liked my bosses and the customers as well as my coworkers. All in all was a good job.

Poorly Executed Attempt at New Model

Poorly executed, employees are overworked and underpaid, antagonistic and self congratulatory management style, negligent wage evaluations by management and founder.
For having a very in depth value system, the people who run the company do not walk their own talk which reflects on their low employee morale and high turnover rate. Projects and systems are changed impulsively in ways that make the business unprofitable. Responsibilities are piled onto workers until they either quit or that can no longer be successful at their position.
