Also dont go off of what your contracted hvac techs have to say about your employees theres one in your middle Tennessee area that's complete garbage and does nothing but talk bad about everyone that he doesnt like. Make sure you do your homework before you accept a job at Gross Residential. Everyone in the Tennessee area knows about their reputation. I wish that I would have listened. Upper management gossips behind employees backs to other employees. And properties do the same to each other. It becomes a hostile work environment. The only training offered is contacting other properties, and none of them do anything the same way. Managers do not supervise, or hire maintenance men, so they are running amuck all the time while on u tube trying to figure out how to repair something. They are required to live on site, so hide in their apartment because they have no on site supervision. Find a way to keep up with the maintenance men since you are not on site to do so. They love to tell everyone "nobody here is my boss". Maintenance staff was shockingly understaffed, and tasked with snow removal and landscape in addition to actual maintenance work. Offices were understaffed in relation to sizes of properties. Success was had on site in spite of decisions made by corporate, instead of having proper support and resources to achieve it. Regional Management (chiefly Ed and Nicole) and HR were great. I had the opportunity to learn and grow, but it was largely due to sheer necessity instead of corporate investment in myself personally. The company has a lot to learn in terms of occupational training, proper policies and procedure and most importantly the professional development of their employees. Learned how to do many different things since you did a large amount of work for multiple subcontractors. People above you look down on you and do not take suggestions. Management does not listen to employees concerns, and do what they want regardless of the effect on employees. We had to self perform A LARGE AMOUNT of work that was supposed to be done by subcontractors. Low quality subcontractors that never showed up on time and left much of the work to Gross employees because they knew we would be told to do it. Don't be so cheap. Listen to employees concerns and suggestions. Pay employees better and offer better benefits. Use construction technology to your advantage. Communicate better with employees. Give employees opportunity to learn more with classes. Give construction people reliable vehicles for job site. Give superintendents work trucks instead of using personal vehicles and getting many flat tires. Interesting work environment, relationships with customers over a lont period of time, competitive pay for mostly clerical or admin work, little to no experience required as training covers everything you need!
