Great Place to work for white men
Great benefits, the people (who are not managers) are super cool, the office location is beautiful.
The misogyny trickles from the top down. The experienced, smart, logical people are shut down and not listened to. You will only get promoted or get a raise if you are "in" with the right people, not if you work hard.

My advice for management is to actually listen to all the experienced people you hired. Going with your gut may have gotten the company started, but will not give it fuel in the right direction.

Not a real company
The offices look nice. Everything "looks" nice. People are great. A few smart people are still left, for now. The technology is feasible and the product is real
This place received hundreds of millions over the last two years and squandered it all based on the whims of a single man, the CEO. There are no structure, little communications (none of any real substance), zero accountability and no strategy when there's no regular VC injections of money. The entire company does whatever the CEO says without questions or discussions. Those that offer an opposing viewpoint are immediately sidelined and let go. The brain drain is pretty much complete and there's nothing left in terms of technical expertise. While the cultivated meat process works and could be scaled up, the CEO is so narcissistic and has no technical, no business nor people skill that he decided he had all the answers and wasted all the funding on frivolous marketing and not on the actual product.

Without a new CEO, this place will be bankrupt soon. If Eat Just owe you money, I'm sorry but it's unlikely you'll see a penny back.

Basic benefits, PTO, and compensation

Leadership has no idea how to run a successful CPG company. Spent all of the funding in 1 year and quickly had to lay off 20% of the company back in February. No future vision for the company. Leadership has a huge ego and doesn’t value their employees. This is the worst company culture I’ve ever been apart of.

Amazing R&D team but struggling leadership
-My team was amazing (experts in their fields, accessible, friendly, and quick to help out) -Benefits are good -Beautiful Alameda campus -Generally flexible schedules -A lot of opportunities to grow and develop new skills in the lab
- Work/life balance was generally poor for R&D teams with a lot of weekend work - Leadership communicated poorly and lacked achievable long-term vision - HR as a department did not respect confidentiality - Huge turnover in staff (including many high-level leadership roles)

A company that once had great people but continues to suffer from abysmal leadership
The people who worked across all disciplines are/were friendly, hardworking, eager to learn, and always willing to assist whenever someone needed a hand. The pro was, is, and always will be the people who made up JUST.
Besides the overspending with no oversight, which is blamed on lack of funding, the leadership is made up of "loyalists" who will do whatever is asked of them just to keep their position of power. The data interpretation and opinions of hard working people is always ignored, allowing for leadership to make ridiculous decisions leading to dire outcomes, such as two layoffs in one year. Leadership never seems to be reprimanded, but rewarded to be part of an "inclusive club" so that ridiculous decisions continue to be made. When your leadership team blows through money without oversight, something is truly wrong and for them to still have their job, this means the one in charge is truly delusional. In addition to that, leadership seem to be the only people making decisions when they have no idea what is actually going on. Instead of being transparent and sharing ideas/solutions, they keep everyone in the dark, including the board as, at least to our knowledge, the three board meetings supposed to be held this year were canceled at the last minute. Aside from leadership is the lack of presence from HR. We were promised to have at least one HR member onsite 5 days a week only to have absolutely no presence. I will have to give some of them credit though because when there were a few that would actually show up, but would be out the door before 3 pm making sure to take the back exit so that no one would see them. HR touted themselves in promoting a friendly atmosphere, but how exactly do you do that when your HR team is never there? The moment the good guys left was the moment the skeletons came out of the closet. Seems like the loyal lackies got their way. It doesn't matter how hard you work, they will always elevate the loyalists over the people who are thoughtful in what they say and do for the betterment of the company.
