I have been working at the college since 2014 and very happy working there. However, due to low enrollment there is no openings for full time. My only criticism is that administration needs to look into student enrollment. There are full time faculty with low enrollment and part time faculty with high enrollment and they don’t accommodate those who are hard working and and are the most admired buy students. I was involved in the sports programs as a coach. The coach I worked under was highly sexist, and discriminated me for being a woman constantly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Even some of the athlete's were highly sexist. After practices of being so disturbingly discriminated, I would go to my car and cry because it was THAT BAD. I even went to HR, and they did NOTHING. I ended up leaving after 3.5 months of being treated like dirt. And to top it off, I filled out my W-2, and somehow it got lost, and I NEVER GOT PAID. For 3.5 months of BS. I do not recommend working here. I would not wish this place of work on my worst enemy. The issues arise when the administration doesn't work well with the employee bargaining units and their unions and standoffs and impasses occur as a standard way of doing business. The administration looks out for the management employees more that the non-management employees. The union employees have to fight for every scrap and there is much red tape when problems arise. Also, getting a well deserved raise is not very easy even if you follow all of the procedures and process and state your case in detail. The wait for an answer is sometimes long and your expectations can be dashed without any real accountability on the administration's part as to why you were denied a promotion. There also seems to be high turnaround at the top and in management positions in the last year. This slows down all other processes that mostly affect the non-management employees. The lack of transparency within the culture was very disappointing. There were things that were not above board that impacted my sense of integrity and sense of value and importance within the college system.
