I love working at Hawthorne! The people are kind, hardworking and creative.
Everyone is very team oriented and a Swiss Army Knife (one of Hawthorne’s core values). I Love the slack tacos!
The benefits are also great! Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K matching, Unlimited PTO (my favorite).
The growth potential is also a great benefit. And I love the learning program that resets annually.
The option to work remotely is great.

- Difficult and dishonest middle management (cannot emphasize this enough).
- Management advertises unlimited PTO and work/life balance. However, employees will be gradually expected to work more hours and be on call at all times, even past midnight on weekends. People who do not comply are gradually pushed out.

- Focus less on “big vision” and more on fixing long-term structural problems…care about the details that go into your projects.
- Treat veteran and younger staff with more respect and pay them livable wages.
- Work on pitching ideas that work to your clients rather than over-promising them. Stop pushing problems on staff at the last minute.
