Field Nurse Austin, TX USA They use you up and spit you out. This was the most unsupported I've ever felt working in home health. No one communicates anything to you until they need something from you and then it's urgent. Stop what you're doing and take care of whatever they need. You order your supplies every other week, so you constantly have to meet up with other field staff and hope they have what you need and if not, you're on your own. Over all, it's just a pretty crummy organization. No one really cares about anyone, even the patient's, so it's not really the kind of place I ever want to work again. Used to be salary, but unfortunately there are none. Patient Care Coordinator Houston, TX USA I enjoyed the autonomy but reps are left to create their own value. No real clinical programs but they take lots of insurance which can help you establish relationships. They only hire seasoned reps so there is no training and they expect you to create value to bring in referrals. RN Case Manager Dallas-Fort Worth, TX USA Its a good company for home health Things have really changed for 2020, I have been with HCP for 2 years now as a RN CM. I have some complaints, but not like the others. With the new Medicare changes, COVID, etc.... staff that was not pulling their weight were weeded out. I am actually pulling in a higher salary now then before. My likes are no office time, mileage from my home to patients, office staff to assist with some tasks to help me out. Insurance is high, but I think most are now anyway. I would recommend giving HCP a try, I like it, I know others who do as well..... I am sure those who complain the loudest are the ones we are glad they are gone... Anonymous Dallas, TX USA You will work 3 people job (High turn over rate) Run, run, run! Cameras everywhere, administration is RACIST, they will fire you for no reason at all. They promise promotions and extra pay. They will ask you to work overtime, but they do not pay time and a half. Everyone is so overworked even the nurses out in the field. There are always new faces at-least 3 a week. Medical benefits super expensive. No retirement. They have Aflac come instead . These are very dishonest people to work for. RN Case Manager -Bilingual Austin, TX USA You must be attentive to time management and see you patients on specified day The orientation is very good, the corporate office is supportive. You order supplies for patients to be shipped to their home. You do the same for your car stock. The HR Manager is excellent and supportive of the staff. The entire corporate are located in Dallas and you may work in cities away from Dallas. Conferences are teleconferences , you do not have to go to Dallas. aeexempt employee You see the clients in the area you live in. Now everything is done on paper. RN Dallas, TX USA Not the best place to work Not organized at all. Chaotic place to work. Schedules are done the day before visit is to be made which makes it hard to have any consistency with patient care. Office expects nurses to be in a patient's home between the hours of 8am-5pm so any charting is done at home on your own time without pay. Nurses are expected to call all patients the night before but schedules are not finalized until 6pm so you spend from 6-8pm each night calling patients to schedule visits. On-call weekends are always full, it is just another work day so do not expect the time off and just see patients that "call in". No work life balance. If you like to work a lot this company is great, but if you like occasional down time or family time this is not the place. Pay is less than most other home health I've worked for. The plus is you do not have to go into an office ever.... I am s strong medical salesperson who was bringing a consistent physician work load book of business with me. I was let go after working 4 weeks with this company. RN Case Manager Fort Worth, TX USA Its all good They have made changes and are Pay Per Visit WITH BENEFITS I have had other offers at higher rates, but HCP has more patients than even I want. My last agency had good rates, but not enough visits to pay my bills. I know a lot of nurses are complaining about not being salaried, but I think this works out to my advantage. You have to be motivated to work. Mileage from your house to 1st patient and back home again helps a lot too, They have even made exceptions to rates for visits that are longer than usual or way out of my area.
