I started off as a care aide then became a recreation assistant. I got offered a job to be the recreation co ordinator At hearthstone manor and love what I do everyday. Our new management/owners care what you have to say and want to make our seniors day as rewarding as possible. Residents do not get the care they need due to short staffing. Management does not care when there are staffing shortages, and will just leave the facility short. They will overwork you, frustrate you, and burn you out. There is also very poor communication from management to staff. They are only looking at how to make the facility look like a institution instead of where you want your loved After working for them for 2 years I have seen them go through 4 Don's they do not support the staff and continuously work short staffed with CNA s. They try to push the staff to do more with less. They have cut staff that would do activities with residents. They have cut house keeping and laundry staff hours. Family didn't matter and you were told that work came first. No one was taught anything but was expected to just do it. They have poor management. THey leave way too many residents in the care of one nurse. It is not safe ethically.
