Not really any that come to mind
Very cliquey at all levels, and it comes from the top. Extremely unprofessional and catty management, rather than focusing on business, growth and development. Some of the worst managers I've encountered, completely invested in themselves and will throw juniors staff under the bus. Therefore, minimal to no growth opportunity or learning and support. Hill Holliday is a traditional agency, not equipped for digital, which is where everything is going.

Great Agency
Smaller agency, so you get more facetime with senior and executive leadership. Some cool clients and very creative people to work with. Definitely shift towards hiring more diverse talent.
Working remotely comes with it's own set of challenges.

Great People Terrible Management
The people were amazing at Hill, that was the toughest part about leaving. I made some life long friends at Hill and even on terrible work days I was fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing people that always had your back
There were a lot of internal processes that needed fixing. The company also lacked diversity. There were barely any POC in senior leadership positions. The only POC at the company were in entry level positions and typical did not stay long at Hill.

Try and understand that the people who are starting out in these entry level positions are working hard, and are the people who are working all hours of the night to make sure clients are happy and campaigns are successful. Sure, the new business team brings these clients in house, but show some respect and recognition to the teams and employees who are making it work.

Decent place to start - recommend leaving after a year or so
-There's a lot of young people and there is a lot of different social outlets (at least before covid).
-The current office is amazing.
-Most people there are very nice and friendly.
-Very difficult to get a raise.
-Upward mobility is challenging and it will take a long time to get the position/salary you want.
-There is no job security since they win/lose clients frequently and there are constantly lay offs.
-When negative things happen, management tries to spin zone it so that it sounds like it's really a positive, but it just comes off as a "drink the kool-aid" situation and it's so obvious. The handling of major issues at the company has been poor (things like losing clients, lay offs, etc.).
-Younger employees don't feel valued and are overworked so there is really high burn out. My first year, I watched 8 people in my seating area (of about 25 total) quit. I then stopped counting. Turnover is ridiculously high no matter the department, but I saw it was worse among those who were on the pharma teams.

Give better incentives to younger employees so they stay. Make them feel like they can actually obtain a real career there. As of now, it's like the younger employees are there to gain skills for a couple of years and then are expected to quit and go somewhere else (typically the brand-side) to actually start making decent money. The company seems to rely on a "burn and churn" strategy where new college grads are brought in, paid a small amount, worked to the bone, and then they burn out and quit.
I was also very disappointed with how management handles problems and layoffs. I have heard stories of people being laid off and other more senior HH employees are told not to reach out to them. The layoff situation there is incredibly cut throat and it feels like I've seen so many people be laid off since I started.
