I worked at Hobbs for 5 years. It has changed alot during that time. By the time I left the company, it was a great place. I learned something new everyday, co-workers helped each other succeed, and management cared and valued you as an employee. Many people hear Hobbs is a terrible place to work, but I don't feel this is slightly the case. The pay is fair, you will make friends and connections, and you can learn and grow. Sometimes it is stressful and you have to have to move it due to orders, but by pushing yourself, you grow as an employee. Biggest complaint is it is hot, but no place can be perfect. I started in fabrication and worked my way to production on line 1. I eventually headed to the needle room where i worked and learned those skills for that position as well for 2 years. I now have the grateful opportunity to be involved with the quality department where I get to learn a whole new aspect of the company. Don't get me wrong it took me awhile to get where I am now. Days get hard at Hobbs but then you go home and come back to a new day. So Hobbs is a great place for opportunity and a very friendly work environment if I must say. It's more of a hands on watch as you go learning environment. Dont get me wrong I appreciate the job but it wasn't worth it. I learned new ways to make my job easier. I also enjoyed the hours I worked weekly and the pay. Some are strenuous. It’s HOT and dirty, the fibers stick to your sweat, not to mention how much of it you breathe. They tell you you’ll get an evaluation and a raise after 90 days, but it doesn’t happen. You’ll never advance past entry level or get a raise. And they don’t mind sending you home if the work slows down, which devastates your pay. I would never go back there to work ever again. Everybody’s job was permanent unless you were advanced to a higher position and it’s optional to switch positions..
