The money is great, you get large parties that almost always tip well. The checks are high which results in higher tips, co workers are great and friendly same with kitchen staff. Very flexible hours, they will work with you and your schedule

Lively environment, but sucks if you don't drive.

This place is cool to work at if you love a lively environment. Live band plays every weekend.
Place is so huge that the Line in the kitchen is non stop until the kitchen closes at 11. And that's a good thing for the dish crew. Dishwashers work as a team because of the sheer size of the place. But if you're left by yourself it's unbearable .
Management doesn't want the side door open so it's incredibly hot and humid in the dish area due the machine being a High Temp machine.
If you plan on getting done early on the weekend, think again. By the time you're done it's 2am.

Before 1 month was up I'd had two 60 hour weeks...

The typical day is too long, too high strung, and supported by basically nothing. Management sometimes are wonderful doing their thing. The other hand is you being persuaded into doing their work for them. If you like hectic, high octane microwaving, HB is the place for you!

They'll give you hours if you want hours.
|
You'll work enough hours to retire in about 6 months, but not the money.

Overworked, underpaid (as it goes everywhere)
Managers are good people who work just as hard and are just as underpaid, but are usually incompetent. I did most of the job for them and received nothing more than a thank you.

Tough, Demanding, Worthwhile

There is no such thing as a typical day at Hofbrauhaus. Everyday is different, filled with new challenges and events. The only constant was to expect to be busy. No sitting around here.
I learned many things at Hofbrauhaus. I became better at handling high stress situations. It is okay to panic for a moment, but then it is time to address and correct the situation. I also became more adept in training/motivating employees in the business. Also, as I developed confidence in our product, I was able to speak with management/employees regarding product quality and service.
Management at Hofbrauhaus was fair. They were very good at addressing the concerns of the employees. Also, any changes made by management was always consulted by the employees.
Co-workers at Hofbrauhaus came from a variety of backgrounds: college educated, no-education, culinary degrees, no restaurant experience, etc. Despite our different backgrounds, we functioned well as a team, and were able to meet the demands of our superiors and customers by providing quality service.
The hardest part of the job was to maintain your composure under high stress. Despite how busy it was, the priority was to deliver quality product and service to our customer. This could not fall by the wayside in the face of pressure.
The most enjoyable part of the job was there was never a boring day. Everyday came with new challenges, opportunities to better yourself and demonstrate your capabilities.
