Tech employees are eligible for double bonuses, and are able to keep their laptops after two years of service. Why are bonuses not standardized across departments and why do tech employees get to keep their laptops after two years of service (don't they get paid enough already!). - If you are the CPO or COO's circle you will get promoted quickly. That being said, if you are not in that circle, then good luck advancing your career. Some folks will sit at an analyst role for 2-3 years while others will become a manager in 10 months. - There is not one person of minority in upper leadership, while they pride themselves of being a diverse company. - If you are applying to Home Chef and you come from a management consulting background, 1 year of management consulting background equates to 5 year of industry experience. - Pay increases are non existent here, averages operations yearly salary increase was 1.5 - 2% in 2020 while tech employees were 3-4%. They do a lot of trainings that are useful for your career. I have worked in two locations of this company as a group leader and I must say none was better than the other. They really lack vision and care about getting all their products out. Despite this, they're often arrogant and think they know best, even though the company has evolved and requires different strategic thinking about long-term opportunities. New ideas or suggestions are not welcomed if they're in conflict with what leadership wants. Disagreeing with leadership in any way is akin to career suicide. -Similar to other posts, career development progression is limited. Leaders at the company either got there from joining the company early or nepotism. Many of them are terrible managers because they lack strategic thinking, and experience with managing and developing teams. It is widely known that you must be liked by the inner circle to go anywhere in the company. Additionally, the company has a huge bias towards consultants, often devaluing the contributions and work of those who don't come from consultant backgrounds. If you come from a non-consultant background, good luck trying to move up in the company without being a "yes man" or friends with the inner circle. -Leaders pander to diversity, but never take any substantive action to address the issues. Despite the fact that many have complained that the company has no minorities in any senior leadership position, the company has done nothing to improve the situation. The fact that there are ZERO minorities in a director role or above in a company with thousands of employees really makes one question the racial dynamics at this company. To make things worse, HR recently started a practice of requiring employees to go through multiple rounds of interviews for roles within the company. While this appears to give everyone a "fair chance" on the surface, it serves to only add more hurdles and undue burden to those looking for career progression. The best part about all this is that the hiring decision for these roles are typically decided ahead of time anyways, so everyone is just wasting their time going through the motions. Not every company tries to question and reduce scope that way, but it leads to good flow and low delivery lead time for customers.
