The company paid for full time hours, even during slow days. Remote work available as well. Work environment is positive, friendly, and casual Training is quick which may be pro or con, but managers are helpful if you have any questions. Horsemen took time when training all of the employees and have never felt over my head once. Managers and other heads are always willing to give a helping hand in any scenario. Horsemen is a family and as an employee it is very nice to be treated like a human being. This will be a great starting job for anyone trying to kick start their career. I've worked as a field investigator for awhile. And Ill be honest: we have done everything from top to bottom, working all/odd hours, travelling and never being home+not being accommodated properly when travelling, no incentives to working extra or travelling, YOU ARE EXPECTED to work if they need you, THEY WILL NEVER LOOK TO GIVE YOU ANY TYPE OF RAISE, or MOVE YOUR POSITION IN THE COMPANY, so do not think you will have an opportunity to move up. This company is more concerned with hiring people for a quick turnaround, rather than keeping and taking care of their loyal and hardworking employees. You need to understand coming in, that you are just a number to them, do what they say and they wont have a problem. These guys are the staple of your work, your machine doesnt work without the boots on ground PI's you have out in the field chasing your surveillance. Take better care of them, give them incentives for travelling, working OT and extra hours, when they travel put them in better hotels rather than what is the cheapest. You lose a lot of hard working guys due to the lack of care and attention to your hardest workers, also due to your mentality of quick hires and overtraining people who definitely are not qualified for the job. If you want this business to take off and run better, I'd start with cutting out the unrealistic expectations of working your employees to the ground, and not compensating them properly for the. work they do. Its not enough to dangle/offer a $100 bonus for the person who gets the most footage for the week or month. You gotta do better, and you gotta take care of those in the field, otherwise you guys will always have a high turnover rate of people coming to you for training, using you and quitting, and you guys chance it hoping they stay. The guy that does the hiring and firing looks like Puff-man from the Ghostbusters movie I got a kick out of that everyday. First to start they FAIL to RESPECT or RECOGNIZE good quality investigative work. Granted they are perpetually working around strict deadlines and they have extremely demanding clients however that should never jeopardize hard-working quality investigative work. They are all about punching in their numbers, closing their cases and turning in their reports with a very cutthroat turn around time/mentality. You are just a number to them and they could care less about development or growth and will not hesitate to drop you like cattle if they believe anything you did was subpar. They seem more worried and they even deeply discuss this during orientation on how focus and centered they are on firing anyone they feel did not completely meet their standards as oppose to retaining and developing their new employees. So be ready to constantly be working in fear of losing your job over any minor screw up. They have way too many micro-managers breathing down your neck and monitoring your ever move, and in all honesty most of these so-called managers hold a pretty much worthless position in this agency, and they are simply just an extra set of eyes and ears to check for any potential slip ups. They will work you to death, and they use a very complicated platform to upload your reports and hours which only creates chaos and confusion amongst the hierarchy. As a field investigator they will work you about 24 hours a day and you will often not get credit to the additional time you put into your work. The pay rate is horrible and the travel compensation is disgusting and they will often make you travel to distant locations from your residence at any time of the day or night. They are plenty of other PI agencies out there that will value and recognize your worth and the quality work you put in. Don't get me wrong this might be the place to start if your new to the industry hence the positive reviews which were probably made by very inexperienced people, however if you are a seasoned investigator, stay away from this company their are firms were you can grow and further enhance your skills as an investigator.
