I got to travel all around Northern/ Central CA to places i have never been and i really enjoyed that . An industry that wants the impossible completed while providing directions from an office hundreds of miles away. Management is famous for saying "you only need to work half a day, which 12 hours you work is up to you". Short term it is a decent job to pay bill but be prepared for a schedule that changes daily with short notice. The investigator has to prepare on the prior day by reading any and all documents provided. The work day may vary from 4 to 8 hours. This job is not the same experience everyday as it depends on the lifestyle of the target. I've spent 8 hrs following someone on a beach, to following someone else across statelines to being inside my surveillance vehicle for over 13 hours during a hot summer day. Management is great and I have learned a great thing or two about private investigation. Co-workers are cool. The hardest part of the job is the setup of the cases and the easiest is the editing.
