Hrboss is the first start up that I worked for more than two years and a half. During this time, I have learnt so much from the management team as well as my cool colleagues. I was given so many great opportunities, I was encouraged to explore different roles and experience many aspects from the product management, product development process to customer services. Colleagues became true friends and I felt that I had a second family there. I worked at HRBoss for office administration side. CEO have so much passion and knowledge and does not hesitated to say it was wrong and right. You will be respected when you put your commitment to your roles and responsibility and royal to the company. Very flat company structure so your voice is keep as alive. Can learn so much about behind the seen of the how all start-up company face to the market challenge and resolve and attack to the issue. All other start-up company only you see is that after all the year of mistake and learning.

- Able to have direct access to CTO or CEO and have a way into senior roles or higher in just a few years, rather than having to climb the corporate ladder at a business with a conventional hierarchy.
- Get intangible benefits, like the ability to build something meaningful new from the ground up.
- Management team did whatever it takes to pay salary/overtime and keep business in good form.

Everyone is expected to pitch in to keep the company afloat. It may be on person’s cons, but on another person’s pros.

Really fun company to work for, I learnt many things here

Great company where even as an intern, my voice is heard and I was given many responsibilities and opportunities to learn. The flat corporate structure meant that we are able to speak directly to upper management and voice concerns or pitch ideas. Decisions are made quickly and things are done efficiently. I also loved the working environment and culture, there were no office politics and coworkers were fun and willing to help wherever possible.

It's a small firm, so employees may be asked to wear many hats - might be a con for some or a pro to people who like challenges or multitasking.

They hire you to do what your resume said you are good at and you love to do. If you know what you are doing, do things at full speed without having to worry about office drama and people bs is in-fact "fun".
At the time I join HRBoss, It is a tech start-up company at a development stage of its life-cycle which by nature of any start-up at this stage, they have to move fast. The simple fact is, they cannot remain in the business if their aim is only to keep up with the larger competitors which are everywhere. They have to be fast to stay ahead of the bigger guys or they will simply disappear. IMO, the CEO has an in-depth knowledge of the business we are in, and he is very competitive which is good.
Besides that, they also offer a good pay. Most people are very nice too.

For many, being in a fast working environment can be a cons too. From what I can see during my years over there, many people cannot adjust with it well. I don't blame them. My 2 cents is, if you want to join a start-up, I mean any start-up, you "need" to be very robust.

I aware that management had already learned about these points below together with the team.
1. HRBoss pay well, because of that It have to make sure candidates understand that it is not a pool of money wait for people to jump in, make a lot of money without enough contribution back to the company.
2. Job hopper is a bright red-flag. [This is also truth for any company.]
3. for a startup, Beware of high pay candidates but¬¬ no background with a start-up. Sometime things can be too much for them!

I worked here for four years out of the Singapore HQ. In brief here are a few of the biggest advantages of working here-
-if you are smart and hardworking, you'll be given the opportunity to assume greater responsibilities quickly. The corporate structure is very flat, if you're talented you will be rewarded. There is a culture of hot desking so sooner or later you'll sit next to the ceo/senior management- as someone young and eager to be promoted fast I loved this
-Super innovative- if you have ideas on how to improve things or a new system then the management are always open to hearing about it. I found that there was no ego involved- management are quick to change approach if that's what is best for the company
-Big customers: their clients are blue chip/enterprise/give meant Organisations so I got loads of exposure to working with many different types of companies.
-great place for people who want to be part of an exciting story. HRBoss have come out of nothing to become a respected human capital tech company in Asia in a few years, they are expanding fast so lots of opportunity for career growth

I'd say the main issue was that they grew too fast and should have done it more organically.
They also hired some Director level employees from big company corporate backgrounds who killed momentum on the Sales side and were the wrong fit for a fast growing start up environment, setting a poor example for their staff.
Like loads of start ups, they had delays in getting their series A through and, for some employees, were late in paying salaries one month. Unlike some companies I've worked for, they made sure everyone got paid up (yes, I've worked in three startups in my time and an still owed money by two of them!)
