Some really cool work being done in Human Rights space. Extraordinarily dysfunctional leadership (all the way up to the board), culture of talking behind each other's backs, lots of energy spent trying to please board/founders, try little managing change, opaque decision making. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 3.0 5.0 3.0 2.0 5.0 2.0 422571 Open 0.0 [] CONTRACT No No 1.0 Mar 3rd, 2021 10:49PM Mar 3rd, 2021 10:49PM Humanity United

private:humanityunited https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=422571 Jun 1st, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Humanity United United States USA Well Meaning with Areas for Improvement Book smart, nice people that genuinely hope for a kinder world. Generous budget towards efforts to make employees "comfortable" (ie. massages, birthday celebrations, happy hours, overnight retreats, high quality catered lunches, team bonding events, etc.)(Potential con: Can be perceived as ostentatious.) If you are in an upper management role, tasks you don't want to do or lack the organization/discipline to do will be allocated to a lower level employee. If you are an entry level employee, it's a good way to get your feet wet in an office environment. There is hand-holding and walking on egg shells to appease the upper management and board. Some employees have refrained from speaking their mind for fear of being fired, or have presented a logical new idea only to have an obsolete choice selected simply because it was safe. There is a disconnect between the essence of equality and freedom vs. everyday conduct and prioritization (ie. entitlement, nepotism, old fashioned gender roles, micromanagement, industry-wide reputation of lacking diversity, etc.) If you are past entry level but still young in your career, your eagerness to learn and take on more might only be met with the tasks no one else wants to do that you are overqualified for. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 4.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 3.0 2.0 422571 Open Trust the intelligent people you have hired. Embrace trying new things and explicitly encouraging new ideas. Prioritize diversity and unconscious bias training--there was a plethora of cringe-worthy things said and done that shouldn't be acceptable for a healthy professional environment, let alone a human rights organization. Continue meaning well, and don't get intimidated by change. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Mar 3rd, 2021 10:49PM Mar 3rd, 2021 10:49PM Humanity United

Good benefits. No sense of direction or foundation for employees. No role clarity and not able to grow within the company or within the role. Also, when asked about my performance I do not get any constructive criticism at all from my manger or anyone in HR. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 422571 Open Please be honest with yourselves on what type of employees you want to hire. private:humanityunited https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=422571 Sep 10th, 2011 12:00AM Open Open Humanity United Wonderful Organization If you want to change the world this is the organization to work for. Seriously, they are really trying to tackle some big problems in creative and innovative ways. Also, it's a great place to work if you are young and want o gain a lot of experience. You can quickly find yourself talking to heads of state from around the world. The mission is so big that it can be overwhelming. Also, it's a pretty flat organization so there is little upward mobility. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 0.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 422571 Open Continue to communicate 0.0 [] No Yes 0.0 Mar 3rd, 2021 10:49PM Mar 3rd, 2021 10:49PM Humanity United
