private:hypewell https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=826121 Oct 29th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Hype Well Marketing Associate Tustin, CA The fun was very short-lived. You wear a lot of hats at Hype Well media so you're able to flex your creative skillset. It was rewarding to see projects come to fruition and work with popular food chain clients in the LA/OC region. The company has a very startup feel and the company culture is young and fresh. Fun job to get your foot through the door in the digital marketing industry. Hype Well has the image of an established "hip and fun" company, but they feel like a failing startup. Low pay, long hours, everyone is overworked and spread too thin. Interns were not compensated with anything other than food and were NOT guaranteed a full-time job after months of the company stringing them along with incentives to WORK FOR FREE longer. Those who do get hired do not receive any benefits other than a minimum hourly wage during a 3-month probation. CEO and managers do not care about the employees well-being as evident by their low pay and the amount of workers who work overtime to finish their tasks. Hype Well hires mostly entry-level workers because people keep quitting and senior management is cheap. Upward mobility is pretty much nonexistent. The company is ill-fit to adapt to the high turnover rate and instead of hiring more employees, they pile on job titles to employees' already-existing titles to fill in the missing gaps. The company will take on any morally questionable client as long as they have the money (including Pro-Trump propaganda companies). If you value work-life balance, do yourself a favor and look for a job elsewhere. If you do decide to work here, don't expect to stay here longer than a year. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 8.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 826121 Open Play to the strengths of your employees and hire more talent instead of overworking your employees. private:hypewell https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=826121 Apr 16th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Hype Well United States USA Business Development Been in the OC location for more than a year now and seen a lot of growth. Our office in orange county has grown exponentially and with the growth, we had to pass a bunch of hurdles to get us to where we are at. The good thing about social media marketing in general is that is always changing and with the team we have, we are always trying to be ahead of the curve which is why we have excelled so fast. I think the correct term for the OC office is Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. With growth, you have to deal with a lot of structural hurdles and loose ends. Do not expect to just be hired to do 1 specific job. This office has more of a start of feel and with that comes more responsibility. If you are not willing to handle a heavy workload you are not ready to work here. 2.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 826121 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Hype Well
private:hypewell https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=826121 Apr 6th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Hype Well Industry, CA Millennials' Dream Job Although a smaller company, working for Hype Well can be equated to working for Facebook or Google. The culture is everything a Millennial wishes for. Flexible hours, ability to WFH, benefits, social media training, and more. We used to do company yoga, take mid week hikes to refresh our minds, team lunches, client photoshoots (with sooo much free food). As a whole you can tell Hype Well cares for its employees and wants us to be happy. It changes all the time. Just like every other start up. If you need structure and stability this may not be for you. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 2.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 826121 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Hype Well
private:hypewell https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=826121 Mar 31st, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Hype Well United States USA Sr Sales Manager Culture here is one of the best i've worked for. It takes a group of bright minded individuals to make this work and our team has never been stronger. The brands we work with are always giving us gifts, free food and paying us surprise office visit. You truly understand the value of GOOD WORK here. Big clients to small clients the marketing team is quite flexible As a sales guy it is amazing how you can sell to ANYONE and EVERYONE the lead pool is always full The company is always changing. Company has went from 50 employees to 5 to 50 and back to 5 and now we're over a 100. Management always seems to find a way out of it every time. Changes havent been made much in the last 2 years as we seem to have stabled out since we hired Albert. However if you are looking for stability I can definitely tell you Hype Well is NOT for you. Our motto is move fast and break things. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 2.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 826121 Open Hire a more diverse crowd of people. private:hypewell https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=826121 Feb 22nd, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Hype Well United States USA Ups and Downs but mostly Ups After the rebuilding phase of the company things have been amazing. We have so much freedom from our managers that we aren't afraid to try new things for our clients. So many people that have quit are regretting their decision. To be honest it's really chill here. Pay can be better definitely. But i think everyone wants that at every job. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 826121 Open More interns please! 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Hype Well
private:hypewell https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=826121 Jul 10th, 2015 12:00AM Open Open Hype Well United States USA Stressful environment with poor management Young environment, casual dress, occasional half days CEO is invisible and largely unavailable, yet has to approve many decisions and doesn't trust employees. Makes decisions based on emotions. Company is unstructured. Employees have to lie about company size to clients. Paychecks and reimbursements are always late and at high risk of bouncing. Staff is unhappy working for no appreciation; constantly stressed about being paid properly but feel that speaking up is punishable. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 3.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 826121 Open Respect your employees: they work for you, not against you 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Mar 4th, 2021 10:01PM Hype Well

It was always interesting work. And I was able to work remote. The one thing I didn't care for was that there seemed to be to many cooks in the kitchen.
