The HR is kind of fine, but at the end of day they have to do what your supervisor wants them to do. So, they-ll make a smile and do the same as your boss. Despite the HR tries to bring the talents, the whole atmospher causes too many talents leaving in a very short time.

Very toxic work environemnt. Your boss will have no shame to use aggressive and offensive words
Forget anything you hear in the interview. THEY DON'T CARE OF PUBLICATIONS. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR POSTDOC.
If you are a talent, double check before joining their teams. It is quite common for them to announce a vacancy as senior researcher and you will find yourself struggling with debigging legacy code written 3 years ago.
Don-t be surprised if a fresh graduate jumps out from the university and after few months promotes to senior. Even with several years of postdoc experience, you may have to wait 10 years to become a senior.
Your boss will keep you waiting for two months before confirming your vacation request.
If your boss completely lacks any experties on a specific topic, he'll assign a fresh graduate as your supervisor and you-ll have a very hard time making them read two pages to find out that they are wrong.
Insufficient processing resources, you will be asked to manage the hardware resources, no further computer will be provided for massive calculations.
There is no long-term plan. Your boss may change his mind in daily basis. It happens quite a lot that you deliver a task and your boss has just forgotten that he himself has defined this task previously.

Nice team but poor senior management

The atmosphere in the office is good and in general colleagues are nice people. People working here are normally recently graduated students from UPC interested in new technologies who are willing to work in Research.
|
Very bad senior managing team. They don't care about workers, only about signing agreements with politicians.
Many projects have no value whatsoever, once they've completed all the phases, they are stored somewhere, locked down and no one hears again about what has been done.

They give you a lot of autonomy and they trust you and your knowledge. One very nice thing is that they were super flexible letting me work from Finland the last month of my internship. Also, the management and the RRHH are very close, you can always explain to them your problems or any concern
|

A good place to start... probably not to stay for long

1. Humanely warm. People working there are awesome.
2. Very nice environment (office premises, well connected, new facility)
3. Work on cutting-edge technologies, of course, it depends on the working area, but still a research center
4. Work with EU project
5. Many employees are between 30 and 40 years old, this generates a very friendly working environment
|
1. The salary is below the average
2. There are not many chances of moving up from your position
3. Flat organogram, that's good for internal communication but also bad for self improvement
4. There are not a lot of investment in employees training etc
5. The management is a bit far from the "working class"
6. Sometimes there is a lack of scope that demotivates the workers
7. The high turnovers generates high workload and force to often rearrange the tasks
