Flexible workplace

Every day is the same - clock in, review updates, and start working tickets. Management is helpful and seem happy to answer questions. However, I do feel like they play favorites.
I love that the job is remote, but the pay is VERY underwhelming. Extra hours are only available during the holiday season.
They give more incentives to the savers than their own (remote) employees. Also feels as if the remote employees aren’t valued as much as the in office employees, but then again we are at the bottom of the totem pole.

If you get a good manager, it's a good job. If you don't get a good manager it can be frustrating. The pay is good, the hours vary.

Flexible but impersonal

Ibotta seems like a really fun team to be a part of if you work in person in the office, they seem to work really hard on creating good culture. I worked 100% remotely in this customer service position, which meant I felt a bit like a robot, just solving infinite number of tickets from customers frustrated they didn't get their 50 cent rewards. I learned a lot about customer service best practices, and working totally remotely gave great flexibility, but as a friendly extrovert I just felt too far removed from the company & team to feel valued.

Ibotta was a great place to work but this year the culture seems to be shifting more corporate. Most hiring is for hybrid roles now and there have been quiet layoffs in multiple departments.

I fully enjoyed the opportunities I had in my positions and my team in the Social Media Group. Training was by far the best training I’ve received for all my job positions at Ibotta.
Supervisors were amazing and communicative up until my very last supervisor who changed her work style drastically in the three years I knew and worked well with her -which affected others who worked with her and that change ended my time at such an amazing company,
I’m not sure now that anyone I worked with are still there as it’s changed so much but I do have to say it was a good time and even when extremely busy was very enjoyable,

Recent Layoffs
|
It was all very hush hush but a support department reorg in July led to layoffs of many individuals. Tenure of impacted individuals ranged from <1 year to >8years.
Decision was made in a vaccuum without consideration of impact to other teams/departments.
Considering that the company is doing well financially, the decision makes no sense and leads one to think that the department head has no vision or understanding of a bigger picture.

Poor leadership and low compensation made turnnover an issue. HR says they don't look at competitive market value or cost of living expenses for salary increases, only "merit-based raises".

I wouldn't leave to another position due to the supportive staff and management. I have had nothing but positive experience in the almost 2 years of working there.
