CEO appears to be driven by personal greed and misleads the employees about the true situation of the company. We were lied to about bonuses that were never paid. We were lied to about stock options and bonuses that we were promised when the company was trying to be sold. People were let go with zero severance. There were good people there. They were let down.

BREAKING: The sales team has struggled all year! This has forced the CEO to release over 20% of their overall headcount, prior to the end of the 3rd quarter, in order to meet investor's expectations. They claimed it was due to a change of direction of their product.
Advice: Transparency would be nice. Admitting that the reduction in force was due to new sales in 2017 being essentially nonexistent would be considered consistent with the company's values.
