Poor Management
|
People are promoted to management positions not through merit, but either through brown-nosing or "paying their dues" (were there a long time). The result is a management pool without experience, training, and skills. Additionally, IEEE is looking to cut costs as much as possible by outsourcing as many jobs as they can. People disappear overnight regularly now.

Good Pay but Poor Management
|
IEEE pays well and offers good benefits but the managers are poor. They lack basic communication skills, such as expectations and changes in policy, and then penalize staff. There is a large volume of work and expectations are not realistic. Managers are receiving additional training which may help. More and more work is being outsourced to India so job security is disappearing.
