Other departments staffed knowledgeable, talented people as well. Many employee gatherings either off site or on for coworkers to enjoy. Number one, the 'Ivory Tower' management. Viable communication and support were scarce. Constant change of plans but not updating the workers till 11th hour. Leadership seemed fragmented. Upper and middle management does not necessary appreciates people' s effort. Competitive salaries, tough problems to solve - provided you are on the right team! College-like atmosphere - Manager felt like he was more interested in "hanging out" with the younger employees than being a good manager. People really want to make a difference. It seems as if the founders have never had a real job after college. May be better now that they have a real CEO, but previous management's ego exceeded ability. Very challenging business model. Most traffic is in countries that are have low disposable incomes and are hard to monetize. There are many smart people that know how to scale web sites, and there is a passion to make things work well. Plenty of passion from all involved.
