We regret your experience didn\u2019t match your expectations.\n \nHere at Illuminas, we do the best work for some of the biggest technology companies in the world. Quality is paramount to the work we do, and part of that is processes that help us ensure the highest quality. However, we recognize that there is always room for improvement. We encourage our team to think critically about these processes. If there are improvements that can be made to do something more efficiently without sacrificing quality, we want to hear about it and share that knowledge across the Illuminas team. \n \nWe also realize it can be difficult to think critically about process when the work keeps everyone so busy. Working late should be the exception, not the rule. We're working to balance project workloads across our teams, increasing our outsourcing options, and constantly monitoring when it is time to recruit for new team members. These three steps together help us ensure everyone has a manageable workload.\n \nI want to thank you again. The culture of the company is very toxic and negative, and the company does not really promote diversity or inclusion. If you do not fit the box then you are shut out and treated like an outsider. We regret your experience did not quite match the level we aspire to for all Illuminas employees. \n \nTraining has always been important to us at Illuminas. I am happy to hear that you gained skills and experience that further developed you as a market researcher. Given our recent growth as a company we recognized the need to have more resources dedicated solely to training. Because of this, we created a new VP level role that focuses on talent and training. The mandate for this VP is to develop trainings more specifically focused on market research skills for each level, project and client management skills, and new responsibilities when someone is promoted. We are also focused on mandatory company-wide trainings that include topics such as diversity & inclusion. private:illuminas https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=285208 May 23rd, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Illuminas Research Manager London, England Full of bullies who will discriminate against your appearance and your background (UK office) Good working hours (because there is no project work) Unfortunately there is no HR department, and the partners of the company have the freedom to do whatever they want. Some of the things i had to endure my short stint at Illuminas: my appearance was insulted multiple times (particularly the size of my lips, I was told my southern accent made me sound stupid and people would not want to work with me, I had a partner go onto my family member's Facebook profiles and insult their appearances "what is wrong with your sister's face?" and I had a partner go through the pictures on my phone without permission. Not only did I have to deal with bullying, but a co-worker of mine was fired with no warning because he made a charting error on a slide. This company is full of impulsive loose cannons and I would strongly deter anyone from working there. Aside from the fact that the office itself is unbearable, you will not get responsibility at this company until you reach director level. From RE to RM you will just be treated like an intern, and the partners will not ask for or value your input. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 6.0 1.0 4.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 285208 Open Treat your employees like they are actually human beings 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 1.0 Mar 5th, 2021 09:52PM Mar 5th, 2021 09:52PM Illuminas

private:illuminas https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=285208 May 22nd, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Illuminas Research Manager Austin, TX You get what you put in I worked at Illuminas for almost a decade and have seen everything you can think of here. The bottom line is that this is a great company, and you will get out of it what you put into it. I came in knowing little about B2B market research, and came out of it as a respected research consultant. The work is fast paced, challenging and sometimes ambiguous, but this is what makes this organization so great. Everything you accomplish adds up to experience you will not get anywhere else, and as you go along you find yourself growing your professional skill set very quickly. You'll be successful here if you align yourself with the core qualities that define Illuminas (thoroughness, thoughtfulness, quality, excellent client service), and make the effort to learn new things. All of the clients I worked with were extremely impressed by the level of work we do. Our deliverables outperform what companies 10 times our size are able to produce, and the visual quality of our reports are years ahead of the industry. PROS: - Amazing people and talent at all levels - Leadership that genuinely cares about the employees - Nice office space and location - Exposure to Fortune 100 clients - No restrictions on growth - you create your own pace - Excellent benefits (401k matching, time off) - Competitive pay - Team activities: lunches, gatherings, happy hours, breakfasts - Process oriented structure - makes it easier to replicate the successes of each project - Strong data scientists - you will be exposed to incredible advanced analysis designs - Strong programming department - survey designs are clean - Great culture that promotes teaching - Flexibility to work around appointments without having to use your vacation time - Senior management is accessible to all - Work life balance is what you make it out to be - you have to work smart to figure out how to do things efficiently, use the help around around you, think through tasks thoroughly, prioritize accordingly, and communicate diligently with everyone around you to create the reasonable work life balance you want - This is a meeting-heavy organization, which is great for collaboration, but is an environment that requires a bit of effort to be successful in - Clients are on the West Coast, which means having later hours (but starting later and getting out later could be your thing ;) ) - The company is still figuring out how to foster an environment where there is more trust of employees and acceptance of failure as a critical component of growth. Right now, PMs and upper management tend to carry more weight than they should, in my opinion. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 285208 Open Keep doing what you have been doing over the years with regards to how you foster the culture around what Illuminas represents. Our clients stay with us because of the quality we bring to the table. I would encourage you to take a detailed look at workflows every once in a while to eliminate disconnects between what we promise our clients, and what is reasonable. Sure, what we do at the core hasn't changed since the days when you used to be in the trenches of project work, but the tools, processes and software evolve over time. Things that may have been easy for you may now be more complicated than you might expect, and things that were once complex could now easy. Either way, it's important that you understand what goes into each deliverable. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 9.0 Mar 5th, 2021 09:52PM Mar 5th, 2021 09:52PM Illuminas
