No leadership guidelines or coaching. As a new manager there is no training, no DM support and no structure. The demand is that you keep the doors open when you have no team. But wait, if your Store uses more than 10hrs of OT to support the hours, the Manager loses 10% of the commission. Then again, you don’t know what you are earning for commission as I had asked several times for my P&L info so I can run my business but never got it. Also told it’s ok to buy lunch for your team for certain occasions. I did and the email I received back was I spent too much. First off it wasn’t a lot and second, what do you care because it is being added to my expenses just like the TP and sanitizer I had to buy. NO GOOD LEADER SHOULD EVER WORK HERE. IT IS NOT HEALTHY! Watch Boiler Room or Wolf of Wall Street for an idea of this place. Lastly, a person came into the store, sprayed soda all over the Store and me. They then ripped a phone off a display and ran off. I called the leadership when it was all done and the first question was “Dis we get the phone back?” Are you Fn kidding me? That’s their concern. Not, Are you and your team ok? Imobile does not value their employees whatsoever. The management is constantly changing, and almost all are promoted from within. While this can provide great opportunities for people, it can also be a terrible idea if you’re literally just promoting whoever has seniority. Upper management is terribly disorganized, and all they want is for you to sell whatever is making them the most money or whatever their boss is pushing for at the moment. Even if you’re doing well, if you’re not selling enough emerging products (tablets, trackers, etc.) you will never be recognized. Even if you are selling those things, do not ever expect to receive a “good job.” There will always be a but after those words or someone telling you that you need to do more. The pay is not great, commission changes all the time, and it’s especially hard to reach even the minimum payout if you’re in a slow store. Especially if that store is fully staffed. As a sales rep the benefits cost a lot, and you have no paid time off, there is no holiday pay or anything. They will avoid overtime like the plague as well. Before I left they were trying to limit everyone to no more than 32 hours a week. They want you to cold call the same people over and over again trying to get them in the door. You constantly have to deal with angry people that got screwed over by another store or a previous rep. You’re expected to lie to customers (which is why they come in complaining) and bow down and kiss everyone’s a** to get anywhere. Would not recommend working here to anyone. Constantly talked down to and disrespected even when I was a top five sales rep in the district month over month for 5 years. The district manager is one of the rudest nastiest people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I had only one day off a week and would receive 5 to 8 calls to my personal phone from her every time. Avoid this employer at all costs. But since we closed in March and opened back up in late June, everything went down hill. Management that was store level was great as well as my other co-worker. Pay here is not the best, and it’s impossible to make a commission most months, unless it’s the holidays simply due to the location. Thankfully, the company still paid us during our time off due to covid, which most companies didn’t do. My biggest issue was the DM. Every encounter with him wasn’t the best, condescending, and never helpful. Honestly, I don’t know he earned the DM position. I’m grateful for the opportunity I had there, but the headache from upper management (DM, RM) wasn’t worth it.
