GAS GmbH have developed proprietary analytical instruments (MCC-IMS) for the detection of volatile organic compounds.
Unlike GC-MS, which requires specialist users in a laboratory environment, MCC-IMS is a robust, reliable and inexpensive detector that can be used by non-specialists at point of care or use.
IMSPEX have developed a range of instruments for the food and fragrance (FlavourSpec) environmental, OEM and diagnostic markets (BreathSpec). Current highlights include a method for in-line detection of siloxanes in biogas generators and a method to detect VDKs in the brewing industry.
The instruments do not require any sample preparation and they work by analysing the headspace of the material ( gas, liquid or solid).
IMSPEX / GAS instruments are available under licence for QC/QA, monitoring and diagnostic applications.
In addition to instrument sales IMSPEX / GAS is developing diagnostic breath test devices for the detection of infection in unmet disease areas.
IMSPEX Diagnostics Ltd is based in Barry, South Wales with its German subsidiary, GAS GmbH, responsible for R&D and manufacturing.
