private:industryintelligence https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=452049 May 6th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Industry Intelligence Content Editor United States USA Small Company Making Big Moves I worked as a content editor at Industry Intelligence for just under 2.5 years. The company took me in as a paid intern and I was bumped to full-time after five months. Interning was great because it allowed both myself and the company to see if we were good matches. During my learning stages I was blown away by the organization of the training. Everything was laid out very clearly and the content staff is very good at giving feedback so that you become familiar with the company's style, what type of news we cover and how to post stories. It is neat to cover various industries to see what sticks. I covered personal care news and automotive for a bit, and I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed writing about the auto industry, having no prior experience or real interest in cars. If management sees that you are excelling in a certain area, they will often give you more work that matches that niche. The content management staff is also open to new ideas and very approachable, which is always nice. As for the aesthetics, the office is open and modern. It's one of the nicest offices I've seen and they provide snacks, including Keurig coffee, granola bars, oranges, etc. There is plenty of seating area, so you can choose to sit at your desk, at the high top tables, or on the couches. Depending on how many industries you cover, you may have to ask a few people to cover for you while you request time off. The content team is very courteous to one another, so this is very rarely an issue. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 452049 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Industry Intelligence
private:industryintelligence https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=452049 Mar 28th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Industry Intelligence Content Editor Los Angeles, CA Great atmosphere, awesome work-life balance I joined Industry Intelligence’s content team fresh out of college. I was very anxious, considering this was my first (big) job ever, but the company welcomed me with open arms and helped me get out of my comfort zone, both professionally and personally. A wide variety of industries are covered at Industry Intelligence, and the company works to see which is the best fit for each editor to cover and assists them in gaining knowledge and interest in their respective industries. Over the past five years, I’ve also held other roles at the company, so I’m never stuck doing the same type of assignment or covering the same industries day in and day out. Majority of editors have been with Industry Intelligence Editors for many years now – at least five years. And several employees who left the company in the past have also returned as freelancers throughout the past year or two. Work-life balance on the content team is great. Editors work Mondays to Fridays, no weekends. And when needed, editors are allowed a flexible work schedule for doctor appointments, family emergencies, etc. Coworkers—both within and outside the content team—are often supportive of each other’s hobbies, interest and goals outside of the office too, which makes the work environment not feel monotonous. And lastly, the company also likes to hold in-office potlucks and parties to celebrate certain major holidays as well as employees’ birthdays and other life milestones, which is always fun! And at least once a year, employees participate in 5k/10k races together. It might be a bit daunting at first to some employees that they can and should interact with sales and the CEO, something not typically seen in traditional work settings. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 452049 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 6.0 Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Industry Intelligence
private:industryintelligence https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=452049 Mar 22nd, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Industry Intelligence Content Editor United States USA A Place To Grow Both As An Employee And A Person The Industry Intelligence content team puts tremendous emphasis on trying to find the best fit for the employee. They are not about trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Rather, they want each employee to be in the best position possible to succeed because the better the employee does, the better the company does. I’ve been with the company for more than 11 years, and in that time I’ve held multiple roles within the content team. In each role, I was involved heavily in shaping what that role would look like to make sure that it was the right fit and that I could succeed. In addition, having a team of people doing what they love and do best creates an atmosphere among the employees that emphasizes a team concept as opposed to cutthroat competition. At Industry Intelligence, we have a flat structure as opposed to a typical hierarchy. So each employee, no matter the level, has direct access to the highest levels. Some employees may struggle with that initially if they’re used to a more traditional office setting. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 2.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 452049 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 20.0 Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Industry Intelligence
private:industryintelligence https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=452049 Nov 7th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Industry Intelligence Sales Los Angeles, CA Save yourself the time and anguish of regretting not listening to these reviews Building’s janitors are very friendly, coffee bean is walking distance, 100% medical covered. Zero leadership, all ego. Do a good job and you’ll fly under the radar, do a great job and you’ll never hear an ounce of praise. I regret not listening to the unfavorable reviews here because they are all true. If you want to survive here (but trust me, you’ll still be miserable), prepare to kiss a lot of you know what. Don’t expect any guidance or feedback ever. Would have liked the company and other employees, but the CEO strips this company of its potential. I would guess 75% or more of the employee here have very low job satisfaction based on interactions I had during my time there. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 5.0 1.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 452049 Open Hire some? Micromanagement is an understatement. Extremely high turnover. Little to no training. Low morale. Horrible managers. Very cheap, promised to reimburse for moving expenses, never did. private:industryintelligence https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=452049 Apr 5th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Industry Intelligence Los Angeles, CA I wish I paid attention to the negative reviews before taking this job. They are all true. Pros: A lot of flexibility in start times from day to day so you can come in very early and get off very early. Cons: Management goes way beyond the normal oversight to watching employees constantly. Employees are let go with practically no warning, which hurts the morale of existing employees. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 4.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 452049 Open Advice for the CEO: High turnover is a threat because ex employees have proprietary company information. High turnover also slows the company’s growth, wastes training resources, and is a sign of poor management, not a bad workforce. Require managers to treat employees professionally and respectfully. Ask all departing employees to give exit interviews with the HR manager. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 4.0 Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Mar 7th, 2021 08:12PM Industry Intelligence
