I would not recommend Instep to potential hires.
|
During my time there, more $$ was spent on sales-sales travel, sales meals, sales meetings, to the detriment of the balance of the staff. No paid OT, no comp time, expensive health insurance, employee paid dental insurance.

Behind the times, but great opportunity for sales

Great for self-starters and leaves plenty of room to make your mark and leave a legacy. Lots of flexibility within the company. Really great people to work with.
|
Hostile environment at times. Fly by the seat of your pants when it comes to releasing and delivering software. Lacking in QA. Driven by the customer with no push-back from upper management. All about sales. Technology is inferior and out of date. Salaries and bonuses are okay, but not competitive.

Good work culture, competitive pay, good benefits, and plenty of mobility regarding your position. Software development is treated seriously without much silliness.

Lots of talented developers who are willing to help younger staff learn the ropes, but ultimately the company's product is ancient and the code you'll be working on reveals as much.
