Central location in DC. Strong vision by leadership team. Effort has been given to provide staff with recognition. The new executive leadership brought much-needed structure in terms of professionalism, strategy, and operations. However, it is clear that the CEO has his favorites and that is only a small number of staff. His favoritism is not based on work ethic or output quality; it's based on personality. If you have his favor then mistakes, missed deadlines, and ambivalence are overlooked. Otherwise, you are constantly being pulled in different directions because he doesn't feel you are working hard enough. There is little opportunity for growth within the organization. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 3.0 355356 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Mar 8th, 2021 07:12PM Mar 8th, 2021 07:12PM Institute of Transportation Engineers

Much better transparency in how the organization is run. Good compensation package from salary to time off. Too few employees for the amount of work expected. Every task is given as a top priority. Very difficult to maintain a healthy work/life balance or use leave as a result. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 4.0 2.0 355356 Open Hire more people for administrative work. private:instituteoftransportationengineers-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=355356 Mar 29th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) Washington, DC Professionalism not valued Staff generally very cordial and laid back, especially considering that the work they do is often technical and, on top of that, very very dry. If you're good at your job, forget it. Management couldn't care less. There is no quality control to speak of, and what matters more is how well you "play with others." I got along fine with everyone there, but at the end of the day was micromanaged, even in a senior position. Seriously--forget being recognized for good work. If your work product matters to you, steer clear. This is a hive of mediocrity. During my tenure, I saw numerous people laid off--and then-CEO Tom Brahms gave them not even the dignity of a warning: They were sent packing with a box, none of them allowed to even speak to their colleagues. That is an undignified way to treat people. I was glad to see Brahms go. He is an egomaniac whose skill doesn't match his self-assessment. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 355356 Open Tend to the organization's mission and values and respect the expertise of your professional staff.
