private:insuremonkey https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=911455 Dec 1st, 2019 12:00AM Open Open InsureMonkey Sales Henderson, NV Just ridiculous There is nothing positive about this organization First, they asked me to sell insurance entirely on my own out of my house and give them my commission at the end of the month. When I refused, they agreed to let me into their office and to be "an employee". The "owner " is a Farmers insurance agent. The Insuremonkey gig is something he does on the side. The monthly pay is extremely low and the commission is just a few dollars for each policy sold. We were expected to stay very, very long hours without any kind of overtime pay, or even hourly pay, which means that we worked for free each day for several hours. There was no lunch break or even an opportunity to eat or go to bathroom because we had to be on the phone the entire day without interruption. The "managers" were mocking the employees for this reason. The managers' best friends and favorite employees get to participate in a group health insurance, which is hidden from the rest of the employees. They are really just a really crooked and greedy insurance salesmen looking for very foolish people to scam and trick into free labor. Whey the "managers" found out they are not getting rich fast enough, we were told that we have to be very very pushy towards customers and force them into buying stuff by any means possible, even by intimidation. A lot of opportunity for growth. Great software platform. Poor performers and disgruntled employees are dismissed quickly. The office is in a decent location, I guess. There was really nothing I enjoyed about working here. Did I mention the location? I've rarely seen a more clueless organization. The cluelessness starts at the very top, with C-level executives who can't articulate the most basic things about how the company does business, but expects those working underneath them to figure out all of those basic fundamentals on their own. They would sell products with not enough employees to get the job completed in the timelines they gave people for delivery. Hard work is not recognized with this company, it's all about if they like you or not.
