I began at Integra telecom in desktop support. I was able to see needs in the department, and I was given the change to take over tasks. With the support of the server team, I was able to take on PowerShell Scripting and Print server management. That lead to a role patching desktops with SCCM. Soon After, i was promoted into the Server team. Another Desktop Support person was promoted into the role I had before joining the server team. I was encouraged to grow, and the team was a great group to work with. The months before I left, the senior management in IT was replaced, and the corporate headquarters was slated to move to Vancouver. The company was once an excellent place to gain experience and an array of knowledge with all the various tasks. It was exciting and Management actually mentored their teams and managed for success. That changed. Your either in or out. He was abusive and disrespectful, he finally transferred back to the state he originally came from The next several years were more encouraging and comfortable environment to work in as I had two female mgrs who were encouraging, coached, and showed a genuine interest in advancement.
