Unfortunate Turn of Events

The people that worked at IMDx were some of the most talented and hard working individuals I ever had the privilage of working with. A collabrative enviorment spawned great success and it was truely a pleasure to go to work each day. The new location in Waltham was fantastic and the building was well designed and open.
|
The most obvious con is decision making that led to IMDx closing it's doors which was just as hard on the CEO as it was for the 40+ employees. The MGMT team had gifted people but perhaps a true bussiness person should have been on staff. The next partner should have been on board and funding us before trying new things

Very little. The people I worked with were terrific. The Management team turned over often, but the team was great.

I can't believe this company just vanished off the face of the earth. The CEO always promised huge success and now they closed their doors and skipped out on their lease. I can't believe they just left people hanging.

Salary was competitive, employees were knowledgeable and hard working. Benefits for a start up were very competitive. There was not trust between employees and Executive Management.

Executive Management was extremely difficult to work with, turn over was very high and moral very low. Decisions at the executive level were made in a vacuum and changed often.

Bankrupt financially and morally & out of business

There are great people at the staff level, the company is in a good location and there have been some positive culture initiatives in the past year. There are some newer executives who seemed genuinely concerned about trying to create a positive environment.
|
The Company is closing at the end of January leaving 40 hardworking people without jobs. This turn of events is partially due to an immature, condescending managment team of micromanagers who are quick with both blame and excuses but offer little in terms of actual leadership. Those responsible for both new business development and fundraising didn't do their jobs and now see fit to blame each other and everybody else for their failures.

Staff are ready and willing to work as a team to ensure success, either in the development of products, or in the manufacture and ensuring quality of the product. All staff repeatedly state that it is the great people at the company that have contributed to the company.

Poor management and communication from senior executives. Good health initiatives, yoga and fresh fruit brought in twice a week. Bagels on Fridays. Efforts in past year to improve communication and company culture

Great group of people at the sub-executive level - most are highly talented and motivated. Some new additions to the executive management over the past couple years have made great improvements to the company culture and working conditions/expectations.
|
Definite improvement has been made at the executive level in some cases, however the long-time executives remain a roadblock to a good working environment and impede progress and the otherwise top-notch performance from the rest of the company. As you'll find in most companies, some employees take advantage of the system by not contributing their fair share of the workload.

If you are unemployed,definitely apply because they seem to hire most people who walk through the door.They pay higher than the market value.
|
This job may not last long enough for you to put on your resume.The turnover rate is very high especially for people who work in the lab.
The software people are treated like they are a class above others while most of the software is based on a third party software for thermodynamics.
The higher management act like a bunch of kids where each is trying to vie for the CEO's attention.
