Worked with some very bright people in R&D. Company events every month or so. My boss was cool until he left. His replacement, not so much.

The company was not growing in revenue and actually going the opposite direction. Lots of lay-offs. It was quite top-heavy, but eventually the lay-offs took care of that.

The people who work here are very nice, the company is driven to be successful, the location is very convenient, and the work environment is friendly.
|
This location is in transition as it becomes primarily R&D and Corporate headquarters. Most of manufacturing operations were moved to another location last year. The number of employees here is smaller since manufacturing was moved.

Honestly I can't think of any pros.
|
Before one of the all hands meeting they provided a box for anonymous questions. A question was picked that was not in favor of the CEO/company. They found out who wrote the questions and fired him.
There are many many other cons to the company.

- A lot of work
- You won't have any career growth
- The amount of work > the salary you suppose to have
- Some directors do not have any concern about employees' safety or health.
- There is biggest safety concern in the laboratory environment, which the company fails to improve. If you do not want to become an unhealthy person in the future, do not apply any engineer position in this company!
- If you have any other opportunity, just stay away from this company!

This is the best place I've worked at so far. I had wonderful coworkers, decent pay, lots of projects to work on, and my boss helped to accommodate family life by allowing a flexible schedule. Not only that, but I had a certain degree of autonomy that I haven't seen allowed to someone at my level in other companies. The company provides a LOT of training opportunities, for which I am forever grateful. QC and Manufacturing teams worked very hard to help the company produce and test material on time for shipments.

Growing pains, just as with most companies. Employee retention was low due to lack of upward mobility.

Please provide more career growth (upward) mobility to retain trained individuals. By providing responsibility, the necessary authority to do it should follow in time. Focus on intrinsic training & career path planning to reap benefits of improved employee satisfaction and/or retention.
Slow down a tiny bit and thoroughly analyze safety, efficiency, yield, etc. and have the processes documented prior to starting a project. Market may be up and down, but organizing things upstream helps immensely to prevent delays that will sway a customer's mind.
