It was easy to pick up hours or get time off if you needed it. There was also plenty of opportunities to get crossed trained into other areas like serving or bartending - so long as you expressed interest in wanting to do so. A lot of the positions here are very flexible. You can do multiple positions and get paid whatever the wage is for that position each day.
It was also a lot of fun getting to know the members and helping out with special events. I honestly never had a bad experience with any of the members here, contrary to the belief that the people that live in this area are snobby or not friendly. Their kids were all well behaved and they treated the staff at this club very well. There is even a weekend in the summer where the members would volunteer to switch places with the staff and throw the staff a summer party to thank us for the hard work that goes into the events here.
I would say the concierge position itself is great for a college student or someone who is retired.
The food thats served to the employees is also great. The break room had full course meals.

The few issues I did have were with my fellow coworkers due to lack of communication while on the job. There were certain people whos negative attitudes seemed to rub off on others, or their disrespctuful behavior was tolerated for whatever reason. But things like that unfortunely come with being in a hospitality position. There are lots of different personalities and some people dont know how to handle the slightest bit of stress.
Also sometimes the hours could be really long during certain events, but whether or not thats a con is up to you. It can be tiring but youll definitely have fun.
Im not sure how much opportunity for career growth is actually here since I think the people in upper management tend to stay for a long time because they really like the job.
Turnover was high for wait staff and concierge but again thats to be expected with certain hospitality positions.

Make sure all of the managers are on the same page. Sometimes it seemed like one manager knew exactly what was going on and another one was never filled in or the missed the memo about something important.
