Toxic Productivity with a management team that doesn't care.
|
There is a culture of feeling like a disposable employee here - they'll just find someone else to do your job even if that other person isn't qualified. Produce's sub par work because projects aren't managed properly and they don't get the right talent to work on the projects. There is not design leadership, no one sticking up for the designers here. Unfortunately, no one in senior leadership has design background so there are people hired at the company in top roles that are not always qualified. Burn out factor is high, always on, not for everyone.

Extremely respectable company with many flaws
|
I loved telling people I worked at Jack Morton. It was almost a badge of honor, but with honor came no glory. No recognition. No genuine thank you. Our branch seemed like the Brand Agency version of the titanic. And my department was just above steerage. Only when the company needs something done, they are nice. When it comes to recognize pure talent and dedication, the moment is shined on the accounts team and the sales team. Producers, designers and the hard work behind the scenes gets shoved to the back of the line and never recognized. Not to mention the compensation takes years to develop. If you start a freelancer with "the promise" to hire, you can wait around for years. Then when you do get staff and benefits your raised go away. You can try your best here and a put in the effort to make things better, but management and the upper echelon will look passed it as a mediocre idea from a mediocre person. I believe this branch has shut down due to coronavirus though.

Pleasant workplace.

My job scope while working with Jack Morton included assisting social media influencers with activities that were part of the product launch. It was important for me to present myself professionally as I was a representation of a named company. The toughest part of the job was crowd control and keeping up with stocks in the inventory. Overall it was an enjoyable experience as I had very helpful and friendly colleagues.
