Storefront offices are pleasant enough. Or you’re in Walmart where it’s continuously loud. The culture can be overly competitive due to season end bonuses.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Open the doors, there’s usually housekeeping, answer phones, make appointments, serve customers. Not infrequently, all at once.

Neat workplace

Workplace culture isn't bad. You're often at a location by yourself or with one other person which is nice. Pretty laid back, not that difficult to do once you get some training in.
My franchise doesn't offer retirement or anything decent in the way of benefits but it's definitely enjoyable despite that.

If you like to work independently, a Jackson Hewitt Walmart kiosk is the place for you. If you need help, you can get it via Microsoft Teams, and there's a lot to learn on your own. The money is good, but what really makes it worth your while is the clients thanking you when you show them their refund.

It's a seasonal job so paid time off isn't available, but management gives you the days off for whatever you need, always.
It's a very comfortable and family work environment. I love my job there. This is the first time I can say that.

You don’t get paid much and often they require you to attend class FULL TIME.. UNPAID.
Those is a great job for someone who is retired and looking for something meaningful to do to socialize, make a little money, and keep busy during the winter months

Doing taxes isn't easy, but JH does a great job with training before you hit the floor and provides extensive continuing education credits. I earned about 60 hours CE.
The work is rewarding, because you help people navigate a stressful event in their lives and make sure they are represented fairly under the law.
The culture at JH is welcoming and supportive, and I enjoyed my time working there immensely.
I learned a tremendous amount of tax law and was personally and professionally enriched by the experience.
