The owner is all about making money; I don’t like him. Use this company as a steppingstone in your career to advance to other companies. It’s not worth it to stay long term here. Some people are nice there except the owner. I was allowed additional time-off for a personal matter and the company paid me throughout this period despite my lack of available vacation time, furthermore I was not made to feel professionally compromised because of it. The room for growth in this company is unparalleled, training is a major focus on the success of each individual. The people I have seen succeed and are still here are those that do their job thoroughly. Some people don't have the work ethic to succeed in our environment. I have witnessed management working patiently with people, despite large mistakes that would have cost them their job elsewhere. The winners at Jaco are those that live up to the expectations surrounding their skills. The people who don't make it are usually those that mean well but can't execute. Or are envious of their successful colleagues. There is a hands off mentality do your job, right and your career will thrive. Whine and complain instead of living up to expectations odds are you won't last long. This is a meritocracy at it's core. Willingness to ask questions offer solutions, contribute to a positive atmosphere, self-drive and determination will propel your growth. This was the first job that I felt that I wasn't being babysat and my work ethic and professionalism determined my success. I am still here and would recommend this job to anyone who is looking to improve their lot in life. Degrees and diplomas are not what drives success here. Management leads by example in demonstrating high morale and respect for all employees. I am writing as someone who has had the experience of going through a few work transitions in recent years. Employees work as a team which is rare in today's workplace environment. The typical work day is productive with commons goals and expectations from each employee and department. Employees are reminded each and every day that customer service & the quality of work is required to keep the company objective in place therefore our benefits and room for growth are limitless. Overall, Jaco Aerospace is a small company with high expectations but if you have the drive and skills. Your potential to grow your compensation and rewards are endless. The vast majority of Jaco employees are Type A personalities. Which means that everyone holds themselves and their direct reports to the standards that they display. We all take our responsibility which can impact the safety of our customer's and passengers, very seriously to ensure the highest quality materials to our customers. In addition we our an AS9120B Quality System accredited company. There are some fun moments such as a daily short huddle with the whole company that usually ends up with everyone laughing. Company sponsored lunches. Random bonuses for above average initiatives or performance. Off site team building and a general good spirit throughout. It's been a long journey to get to where we are today. We've grown from a tiny company to a respectable firm that is industry recognized. I couldn't be prouder or more grateful than the team we have. Everyone is sitting in one space and the owner is constantly on everyone's case. Micromanagement by the owner and the fact that he loves to humiliate his employees are the main problems. All the employees are looking for a job, while working there. I didn't encounter one happy employee. I have seen the company grow from one employee to where it is today. I was always impressed with the upper managements care for the well being of its employees. I personally witnessed the CEO tell certain employees who were preoccupied with personal issues at home to take time off work to take care of whatever the issues were. I believe that because the company is run with such sensitivity for its employees it has seen such great success. Management does their utmost to educate the staff and skill them in new techniques and methods. Giving them many priceless skills. Management goes so far as to periodically buy catered lunches for the staff which is quite unbelievable. The staff are highly motivated and the standards of performance are high but commensurate with compensation. Management does not hold themselves higher than staff, the group is so highly motivated, that it may be hard for some to keep up in the environment. The office opens early which is appealing to some and may be a deterrent to others.
