It's a machine shop. You're going to get oily/dirty. Pay is good depending on the position. Some very smart people in that building. Don't expect to have much free time outside of work. All the hours you would want to work. You can learn a lot there if you're motivated to do so. At the time I left the business, at least 2 or 3 people would leave every week and they couldn't backfill positions quickly enough. It was a tough time to be in the company because morale was very low. I certainly hope that they've improved. At the time, I really liked and respected my manager(s). In February, 2008 I was requiring surgery, followed by an 8-week absence from work. Because I knew how busy the department was, and because I didn't want to burden my co-workers, I volunteered to work from home. I returned to full time work in April. At the same time, the company was reorganizing in many areas, including the Maintenance Dept. I was now reporting to someone else; to make a long story short, I was terminated by him in May.
