private:jazzercise https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=7272 Apr 9th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Jazzercise Woman-Led Company's Promise Falls Flat: Where Support Fails and Sinks Pros: Excellent (mostly friendly) colleagues, Competitive benefits, Healthy work-life balance with reasonable workload - Limited additional perks beyond standard benefits - Scarce advancement opportunities unless you are affiliated with the family or serving as an instructor - Lack of leadership development for middle managers ingrained in the company culture - Absence of mentorship programs - Expectation to remain stagnant in the same role for extended periods without encouragement for progression - Below-market pay rates with minimal prospects for substantial raises, despite company success driven by employee efforts - Despite the company's emphasis on being women-led in PR, there is a noticeable absence of encouragement or rewards for the women within the organization, exposing the disparity between rhetoric and reality. - Subpar maternity leave benefits further underscore the disparity between the company's public image of being women-led and the actual support provided to female employees during critical life events. - Lack of managerial training results in micromanagement tendencies, exacerbating issues of inefficiency and disempowerment within teams. - When management presented the results of an employee survey, while some feedback was mixed and included negative aspects, rather than committing to address the identified issues, they adopted a defensive stance. Instead of acknowledging areas for improvement, they admonished employees as a group, insisting they should be grateful and essentially dismissing the possibility of change. Employees were essentially blamed for any perceived cultural shortcomings, fostering a sense of frustration and disillusionment within the workforce. - It's highly unusual for employees to be directly told that they are solely responsible for the company culture and that any negative aspects are their fault. This approach not only disregards the role of management in shaping culture but also places undue burden and blame on employees for systemic issues within the organization. Such messaging can foster resentment and undermine trust between employees and management. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 1.0 4.0 3.0 1.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 7272 Open 1. Foster Open Dialogue: Encourage regular transparent communication channels where employees feel comfortable expressing feedback and concerns without fear of reprisal. 2. Commit to Action: Take proactive steps to address identified issues from employee feedback, demonstrating a genuine commitment to improving the workplace environment. 3. Provide Support and Development: Invest in training to empower leaders with the skills necessary to effectively manage teams and cultivate a positive work culture. 4. Inclusive Training Opportunities: Ensure equal access to training and development programs for all employees, avoiding exclusion based on arbitrary factors, and supporting individual growth and advancement within the organization. 5. Own and Revamp the Culture: Recognize that employees are not solely responsible for workplace culture issues. Take ownership of the shortcomings and actively work to address and improve them. Avoid shifting blame onto employees and instead focus on implementing meaningful changes to create a more positive and supportive work environment. 6. Enhance Growth Opportunities: Roll out a comprehensive career advancement initiative encompassing mentoring, coaching, and training programs customized to meet employees' unique career aspirations and skill enhancement requirements. Establish a transparent promotion pathway accessible to all employees, ensuring clear communication and visibility across the organization. Currently, some employees are encountering dismissive responses from management such as "we don't do that here" when expressing interest in career progression. That is not right. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Open Apr 26th, 2024 02:48AM Apr 26th, 2024 02:48AM Jazzercise

private:jazzercise https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=7272 Oct 30th, 2023 12:00AM Open Open Jazzercise Corporate Support Position Corporate office is just rats fleeing a sinking ship at this point Nice coworkers, free dance fitness classes, occasional free food in the office. Are you interested in joining a company where you often hear people say, "I had no idea they were still in business"? Jazzercise is a legacy company/family business that is really all over the map these days. On one hand, they are struggling to figure out who their target audience is and on the other, they are constantly on the edge of fading into obscurity. Their old-school ways extend to their workforce, with a focus on keeping people parked at their desks, insisting on regular self-assessments to prove their worth, but missing out on modern work perks and flexibility. Like many others, they're gung-ho about dragging people back into the office (A lot of my coworkers are trying to find new jobs since it was announced that they want everyone to come in 3 days a week starting in January), but they don't offer many opportunities for career growth and don't show any appreciation for the hard work everyone put in during the pandemic. The corporate vibe is taking over, and it's not exactly a motivator for employees to stick around. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 7272 Open Trust your staff, develop stronger leadership. Train people to manage. The company's survival and resilience during the pandemic can be attributed to the dedication of humans who put in their best efforts from home. A lot of those same humans have already left because of the new "glue yourself to your office desk because we said so" culture being the only culture. It's also baffling that the benefit was discontinued without any form of compensation. Diversity, equity and inclusion is a joke at this company. There is very little diversity. It's still run like a mom and pop, mostly nepobabies hired and promoted. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Open Nov 2nd, 2023 12:26PM Nov 2nd, 2023 12:26PM Jazzercise
