In all honesty, I don't think any company will ever be perfect. What's most important to me is that a company and its leadership make steps everyday to be more transparent, create more opportunities for growth, listen to their employees and live their mission everyday. I really believe that Jhana is a great place to work because we try everyday to be better, we learn from our mistakes, we try to be open to redirecting (critical) feedback and we try to be open to new ideas and ways of operating. I try to gauge happiness at work with the question, "Do I want to leave?" I asked myself this question when a recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn a few weeks ago. The answer was, "No, I like it at Jhana."
I guess I'm staying :).

We are quickly outgrowing our office - when everyone is in, it's loud and can feel cramped.
The office isn't wheel-chair accessible.
We take food very seriously here, if you don't label your company-provided lunch, it may get eaten.
It can sometimes seem like some departments are more valued than others.

Working at Jhana has been a tremendously positive experience - it is a special company.
There are many pros, but general themes include: mission-driven, trust, support, lots of coaching when needed, autonomy, always assuming positive intent, a surprisingly very mature operational setup for being a newer "startup", and lots of creativity and open-mindedness. The leadership team is smart, capable, transparent, and embodies strong leadership. There are also flexible working options, a personal learning budget, and an abundance of snacks in the office!

I have been at Jhana a little less than a year now, and I am still incredibly happy that I joined the team. I would 100% suggest Jhana as a place to work to my professional network, and I do this often by referring people that I think would be a great fit.
Pros:
1) Love my co-workers, I enjoy being around them, learning from them and being challenged by them
2) Truly believe in the product– and I know that it will only get better
3) We have amazing customers– they are just as passionate about serving managers and employees as we are
4) Our leadership team is legit– they care about culture, development and being transparent
5) Work life balance is no joke here, we are encouraged to take care of ourselves

1) Finding a way to better engage with remote teammates when they are not in the office– I know we are working on this, but, the issues have not been fully resolved
2) The open office environment can be distracting for some, however there are some other areas around the office you can work from (and we can also work from home when needed)

Keep it up! I have never been at a company that is as transparent as Jhana, and I love it. I also feel like people are recognized for the contributions that they make here, it's lovely to see the praise circulating the team. However, a lot of praise doesn't mean that this team avoids the tough conversations– they face the big stuff head on. Great balance.

I genuinely enjoy working here. I've referred several friends to work here. To me, the things that make Jhana a great place to work are:
- Co-workers who are extremely smart AND caring - equal parts. Rare to find.
- Great mission around helping managers, which in turn helps their teams.
- High sense of ownership and autonomy in my job.
- I believe in our leadership team

Things at Jhana move fast and things change quickly. I've seen that this can be quite disorienting if you've never worked at a startup before, or if this is your first job out of college. That said, I do feel the team is really supportive and communication is pretty transparent, which helps a lot.
