As a current employee I would not recommend anyone applying to VON. The management does not care they treat their employees like numbers they overwork you and then they reprimand you for not doing overtime it's kind of run like a communist country

It’s been two years since I have been working with VON as a Health Care Tech. There is never any day where I don’t enjoy my work. I love working with palliative patients, management is great and cooperative, job security is better as they have got the Union, new learning everyday. I highly recommend VON to everyone.

Ambiente laboral muy pesado

Es una empresa que paga muy bien, pero hay mucha rotación de personal.
La mafia que hay (Oscar Ríos y su equipo de trabajo) hacen un ambiente laboral muy pesado y son personas que no se preocupan por la calidad. Gracias a ellos la empresa ha perdido y sigue perdiendo mucho dinero.

Micromanagement, yet no real accountability for slackers
Others agencies have better tools/resources, all we get are excuses
Money spent on consultants but nothing gets better
"Yes" man mentality, if you oppose you're seen as a problem
Hiring process is questionable - a lot of who you know/pets, positions made for old buddies, false promises to recruit people
Went through a rebranding recently so no money to give raises - sick people don't care about what logo looks like you are a not-for-profit paid by the government this won't increase your sales or revenue

Nothing is ever easy. Nurses always work overtime and are forced to. CSA’s also sometimes mandated to work overtime. Short staffed in every aspect. Little to no training. No consistency for newer staff. They don’t care!

VON provides an amazing service to our communities, the nursing staff that I have worked with are for the most part great at their jobs.
Over the years, management support has declined, staff are often bullied into working OT.
A lot of sick time is taken, which ends up in other employees having to work more than their percentage. I don't view this as a nursing issue, I view this as a management issue, happy staff come to work
There is little regard given for a healthy work/life balance which can cause unecessary stress for staff.

Clients were wonderful and the only part of the job that I enjoyed. Mgmt was awful. Just a warm body to Team Leader. Any suggestions to help clients were dismissed. Underpaid and use of own vehicle needed for the position. There are many better home care agencies out there. Just run from this one. A very disappointing experience overall.
